by cathyjos My bed is FINALLY comfortable!
I bought a brand new bed and spent a LOT of money on it, but it was terribly uncomfortable. I like a hard bed, and because I have back problems, I know it's probably better for me. But, this bed was SO hard, I could not get a good night's sleep. I already had a memory foam topper, but with my back issues the foam was hard to move on. Someone suggested a down pillow top feather bed. That sounded like it would be perfect with my down comforter, so I bought one. I liked that it has "sections" in it so the down doesn't shift too much. When I "fluff" it feels like I'm sleeping on a marshmallow and I love, love, love how comfortable it made my bed. I sleep great now and it's hard to get out of bed in the morning!

This is so comfortable, I love to be cozy and this is like a cloud. It's pricey but it's good quality. I got a king size and I don't regret it for a second. Worth the price if you want something special to treat yourself

The feather bed seems to be nicely crafted and designed. We use this on top of a firm tempur pedic, expecting to soften the sleep a little. It does, but not as much as we expected. This is NOT a 5" pile of feathers. You may fluff to that, but I think the quantity of feathers allows immediate lessening of the expected thickness. It does seem to provide a cooler sleep than the straight foam, which is good. It's OK and we will keep it, although it is a little pricy for what you get. Could not find anything else at a reasonable cost that wasn't 1 or 2 inches. JCPenney is remiss in not providing for sale a compatible cover. You would certainly want a cover over this investment, so we had to go elsewhere to find one.

This topper is better than our pillow top mattress we paid a fortune for that collapsed after 2 yrs. We haven't slept this good in a long time and don't want to get up when the alarm goes off. The comfort is just right.....not too soft.....not hard at all. I fluff the topper every week which is easy for me to do....King Size.....I flipped my useless pillow top mattress over which gave us a hard surface to work with....put the new down/feather bed topper on and OMG it's fabulous.....I was concerned when it arrived all compressed & shrink wrapped but I did what the pamphlet said and now we sleep like never before. My husband is so happy now....no more backaches....no tossing....no turning....Oh and he barely snores anymore.

I had high hopes for this feather bed, but it is not very thick, maybe 1.5" and once slept on, it flattens even more.
You will need to fluff every day.
I would suggest purchasing one of the other toppers available.
This does not provide much cushion or support.

My sister bought one of these for her bad, and after laying in it, I immediately bought one!!! It is SO comfortable! I haven't had any problems with it going flat, I change my sheets weekly so while I wait for sheets to wash/dry I let it "breathe." Definitely worth the investment, my bed is now one of my favorite places to be :) I bought a second one for my guest bedroom and my guests have all said how incredibly comfortable the bed is :)

I have a king size Tempurpedic cloud mattress on my bed that I still find hard after a couple of years and I would never buy another one. I've slept on few mattress toppers in my lifetime and I think this one is the best so far. It is the thickest I have ever seen! The reason I didn't give it 5 stars across the board is because it's heavy, it needs to be fluffed regularly (when the sheets are changed), and it was a little pricey. I would definitely recommend it though.

New mattresses are so filled with toxins that as a migrainer I was scared to get a new one. Instead we tried this feather and down top. Best decision I ever made! Yes, you have to fluff it once a week... big deal... it is so comfy and saved thousands, not to mention saved our bodies from the toxic gases the new mattresses give off! Highly recommend.
