I love the color and for the price it was a great deal. I can attest to the durability, I've only been using a few weeks.

It broke the first day. We had it closed and it was breezy, not windy, just breezy, and the next day found one of the supports broke and lying on the patio. The upper and lower parts screw together and are difficult to put together and take apart. Again a second wooden support snapped right off when we were trying to unscrew it to take it down. The wooden pole swells in the base and cannot be removed. Also because the two pieces of the pole screw together, they don't fasten together tight enough to make the umbrella stand perfectly straight.

I purchased two of these umbrellas. I put them up in the backyard for less than one week, when one fell over and snapped in half. Yes, they were both closed and in sturdy stands. Not sure why one would fall over and not the other, but here we are at the beginning of our hot season and already have a broken umbrella before it was used. Very disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Landlord Great value but a few flaws
After opening the two umbrellas that I purchased I notice the bottom section of the wooden support pole (of one of the umbrellas) was split the entire length. Other than that for the price they seem to be a great value.

Ordered umbrella, order got lost, cancelled, and re-ordered, received multiple umbrellas and had to schedule return. This umbrella is so tall, I cannot raise and secure it without a chair. Fabric is thin and flimsy, some poly fabric, so I'm unsure about durability but am guessing it won't last as long as my old cotton canvas umbrella. My husband cut the pole shorter and drilled an extra hole for adjusting it. I do like that it functions very basically: Pull the cord and insert the brass rod through the drilled hole in the pole to hold it in place.

Rated 2 out of 5 by BeniciaBound the base post has a crack 1/2 way through it
i didn't realize that the entire umbrella, besides the canopy, is made of wood. even the moving parts that extend and retract when opening and closing. it gets windy sometimes where i live so i have to make sure that it's not extended when the wind comes up. as for the split post... it appears that the manufacture was aware of it since the split has paint or stain in the crack. i'm not sure how i have this issue resolved since it came with no paper work, not even a packing slip,

Rated 4 out of 5 by Evaleen So far I really like this umbrella
This is an excellent value for such a large umbrella. I already have a metal-post crank-style rectangle umbrella (purchased from JCP) for my outdoor dining table, so I thought I would try the wood post umbrella for my lounge area. I've had it for a month and it seems sturdy, and only time and windy weather will tell if its durable. I don't leave it open when not in use or when its very windy. Love the cheery Royal Blue color and it's easy to open and close.
