Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a good work shoe I purchased this item for my son who works in the food industry. They keep him from slipping around on the floor while at work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product and price, but apparently missized I have just picked up these shoes in the last few days. I have to wear width 4E, and both are marked as such. But It appears that the right shoe is more narrow than the left. While it does appear to be a wide, it seems to only be a 2E. My feet are slighty different sizes, but the right foot is the smaller of the two, making the shoe fit even smaller than it should. When I have problems with a size, it is usually due to the left foot. I am going to test them inside on carpet to see if I will be able to wear the right one. But, if the right one does not stretch a bit, will have to return them. Much trouble, and wides are not carried in the store. I currently have the same/size shoe in white, they are very comfortable, and have worn them for a couple of years. I particular like them for comfort, value, and the special cantilevered heel, but it appears that the quality has gone down since they have moved their manufacturing overseas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe & great support! I love these shoes! They fit great from Day 1. I need good support in a walking shoe and these provide great support & don't make my feet so tired at the end of the day. I have orthodic inserts that I need to wear & after taking out the inserts that comes with the shoes, they work perfectly. This has been a major problem when shopping for shoes so I love the extra wide width. I had a previous model of Avia shoes that were very similar, but they were discontinued. I was a little nervous about trying a new style, but these fit exactly like the previous pairs. Last time I had Avia shoes, they lasted almost 2 years! They look great and the outside of the shoe is also easy to clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit and comfy! I bought these shoes for my husband. He has really wide feet. He said to me the other day they are the first pair of shoes he has ever owned that haven't hurt his feet and that he didn't need to "break in." He works in a maintenance/custodial job and is constantly moving and on his feet all day. He also wears them for his second job working in a warehouse. I am very pleased to have finally found a pair of shoes that work and fit him. I am purchasing a second pair to have on hand when the other pair eventually wears out. He has had them only three months and they are holding up well so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Avia shoes fit my feet well. The Good: I walk a lot (10,000 steps+/ day) on my job. That's 10,000 steps on concrete, in poorly lighted areas, and in various slippery conditions. These shoes last about a year and the non-slip sole prevents falling! The Bad: They used to be made with (partial) leather. Now, the tag doesn't list the components but they have a "mystery sticker" inside. After googling the symbols on the sticker, I found that they no longer are made with ANY leather. I haven't worn them enough to determine if they will cause excessive sweating or not. This may be a problem for some...

Are these shoes really leather

I bought a black pair on line, and it is stated on-line that they are leather.. Neither the shoes, nor the box indicate that.. Usually, leather athletic shoes now days show that on the tongue of the shoe, otherwise they have synthetic uppers.
Asked by: ALFV8
I am the one who asked the question. How do you know, unless it is on the box or shoe? As I said, a lot of athletic shoes are now being made of synthetic materials, even pricier ones, and I have looked at a good many lately trying to find a good fit.(New Balance, Nike, Sketchers, etc.) All the leather ones I have seen have leather written inside the tongue, and the synthetic ones do not state what the uppers are made of. I have this same shoe but several years old. That pair is leather, and states it. The new ones do not. The newer synthetic materials look and feel like leather, but are hotter when you wear them. I am just wondering if the manufacturer has changed materials, but Penney's has not updated their on-line description.
