Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect curtain rod I bought this rod because I wanted sheer curtains over my vertical blinds. We all know there is a good size head rail with vertical blinds. The rods are perfect for using with Vertical blinds. I took down the decorative head rail that came with the blinds first and then put up the rod. I love the look and added privacy when I open up my verticals and have the sheer curtains.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super rods We shopped a lot for the 5 1/2" return on the curtain rods. They were hard to find JCP was the best price out there when I finally went to JCP.com Next time I'll go to JCP first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These rods are light weight, have a nice bend, extend, and are deep. I ordered curtain rods for a bedroom, they had to be about 9" deep to go over verticle shades and sheers. I was so happy the lady at J.C.Penney's was able to help me make the right decision and placed the order for me. My husband (of course) put them up and the valances look great on them, so happy that Penney's has everything one needs to make a window look just right.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fills the need for extended rod I purchased this rod to hang a topper over my existing curtain rods. The depth of rod only is 5 1/2". The extension piece extends it to an 8 1/2" depth. I thought it could be adjusted to any length in between but that was not the case. In order to use the rod without the extension (which was all the depth I needed), I had to purchase additional wall brackets. The rod was well made but I wondered if you were hanging heavy curtains on a wide window how supportive it would be without a center bracket. Luckily, this rod fit my needs with an additional purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bali Extended Curtain Rod I have been doing business with JC Penney for many years. They have always been my go to place for curtains, drapery, and all my bathroom accessories, especially since my family moved around a lot while in the Air Force. I needed an extender rod for valances in a bedroom. They are not readily available to buy. So I ordered them from Penneys and the they shipped them right out to me. The extender rod actually extends about 5 inches from the wall, making it easy to hang a valance over curtains. It comes with a heavy duty bracket for a heavier curtain if needed. I'm very pleased with this product and will buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product This curtain rod is exactly what I needed to extend out past the vertical blinds on my windows to add sheers. It extends 5.5 inches on it's own, then if you add the included extension brackets you get up to 3 more inches if needed. I always get quality window treatments and products from JC Penney and will continue to shop there.

I will need to order the rod width of 127". This is for a lined medium weight fabric valence. Will the rod come with additional brackets besides

the end brackets to support the middle of the rod?

I have the very same question as the person (above/below?).... Please explain what *for 8 1/2 inch wall projects and *allow for 8 1/2 inch clearance?

Please explain in better detail what the description means about 8 1/2 inch wall projects and allowing 8 1/2 inch clearance means??? I really need more in info! thanks
Asked by: Sheryl
I had the very same question, but decided I would just buy the rod and see for myself. I was using it to go around some vertical blinds I wanted to cover with Sheers. It works perfectly. Big enough to go around the head rail of the verticals I am glad I took the chance. See pictures below sorry they are sideways.

I need a rod to use with my current traverse rod from which sheers hang. The new rod is for panels. Is this the intent of this rod?

The existing traverse rod projects 3" or 3.5" from the wall. I'm going to hang a board-mounted valance in front of the sheers and the panels. I need to find a rod that will fit between the sheers and the valance on which to hang panels. Is this the right rod?
Asked by: Lori
I believe it could be used that way. I can't say that's the intent of the rod. If you use it that way, you should make sure it gives you enough room so that the sheers stay in place when you open the panels.

Does this rod project less than 8 inches from wall, i.e., 6 inches? Also what does allow 8 inches mean?

Asked by: Frannie100
So I bought this rod to hang sheer curtains over my vertical blinds and it is just big enough to get around the head rail to hang sheers and have it look great.
