Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm so pleased to find another one. About 10 years ago, I received a electric blanket that I loved. Recently the blanket is not working right. I just didn't want any new electric blanket, I wanted a new one like my old one. I wasn't finding one, then I saw my new blanket online. After reading it's description, I new I'd found another "Perfect Fit" by Soft and Warm Techknowledge electric blanket. This time I got one in blue which matched my room. Only had a chance to use it a couple times so far, But I love it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very STRONG chemical smell. I ordered this blanket for my first try at an electric blanket. I received it in about 3 business days. But when I took it out of the box it smelled really strong of petroleum of some sort. I hung it over my outdoor clothesline for 2 days, it was no better. I noticed black oil spots on box so called company & they sent UPS to get it & sent me a new one. I waited 3 weeks for this exchange. The new one smelled ok out of the plastic bag, just new smell. I hung this one out overnight also to get that "new" smell out. The only thing I can figure is the damp night air brought out the same very strong motor oil or hydraulic fluid smell to a head jerking degree. ( My sheets smell wonderful off the clothesline) When I returned it even the JC Penney clerk's head jerked back at the strong acrid smell. While I am sensitive to certain smells my husband is not & he also had the same reaction to the smell. No way that blanket was going on our bed. So, I don't know what happened to me with this blanket since all other reviews are raving but guess I'll stick with my heating pad for my cold feet at bedtime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toasty Blamket Love this blanket. I usually use it to heat up the sheets before I climb into bed. It makes them nice and toasty. Often I can then turn it off and not need it the rest of the night. It's warm all on it's own. My old one wouldn't heat until i climbed into the cold sheets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and cozy blanket If you're looking for warm and cozy, you'll probably like this blanket. It has some weight to it which I love. The controls are quite responsive to minor adjustments to heat a bit more or cool down if needed. The wires are a bit more prominent than I've had in the past, but not enough to be a problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice, Warm Blanket This blanket does what it is supposed to do; it keeps you warm. It is constructed so that it's warm even when the switch is off, so we only use the "electric" part on very cold nights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice blanket I read NEG customer reviews re: the warmth of this blanket but decided to try it for myself. I have owned electric blankets since the 70s and find this one to be so comfortable and toasty without too much weight. Wires are thinner which is great. It feels light but luxurious at the same time. I live in snow country in CA and have always used the setting of 4-5 on my old electric blanket. I didn't know what to expect with this blanket and started it on High an hour before getting into bed and quickly turned it down to 4 to sleep and adjusting it even lower during the night. I do wear flannel PJs all winter, though. So far, I'm very happy with my purchase and so glad I really saved a lot of money with a fantastic sale. I bought this blanket to eventually replace my present working blanket that pilled horribly with heavier wires, which I also bought at JCP, but this one was so toasty and looked and felt wonderful that I am using it now! My husband loves it because he has RA and loves the warmth without the weight of heavier wires. We have learned never to sit on our blankets because of damage to the wires, and they have always held up well. I hope this blanket will last a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from warm and cozy My new electric blanket has dual controls and is warm and cozy. I was careful to follow the instructions and not tuck in the cords. I had to buy a device to give me an additional electrical outlet as the device requires two connections for queen size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I expected and more. Just had to test one night to get the temp set to the right place. Now every night at 9:00 PM, we pull back the bedspread, turn the controls on and forget it.Gev

I purchased the Bifford, and I hate it -- it's paper thin. Does this blanket have some weight to it?

Answer:
Yes, this electric blanket does have "some" weight to it. However, it is not heavy. Probably against the instructions, I put a light weight blanket over it which works perfectly. It is a great electric blanket, the best I have ever owned.

Answer:
It has warmth without the weight. I feel like I am sleeping in a luxurious hotel with this blanket and like that the settings are easy to adjust. This blanket rustles a little when you move but it feels like a very light and very thin down blanket with the separation of thins wires in the middle. We love it and my husband loves that it is warm and not too heavy for all his arthritic joints. We replaced a King Sealy blanket with this one.

It is hard to say for sure. Is there any way you can visit the store? If you do not like your purchased blanket, perhaps you would like to send it back. Contact Customer Service.

Answer:
If you want a substantial electric blanket, I highly recommend this one. I have had several over the years, and just bought a new one for a different size bed. Even if you don't turn on the heat, it is warm, and you can not feel the wires. This isn't one of those lightweight "minky" fleece blankets, but very heavy duty. So be sure you want a really warm blanket on top of you.
I have no reservations in recommending it. The company also offers a good warranty, which I used once when one side of the blanket went out after several years of use, and they replaced promptly.

I bought one last year & after about 2 minutes or so, the light on the controller automatically went out. It will come back on if you change the setting, but I like for it to stay on all the time. Don't want if the light doesn't stay on all the time.

love this blanket, however, I will be returning it after only 3 nights. One side quit heating & the other side barely heats at all. I had it on high all night and it was barely warm. Sooo, I have no idea about the controller
