You can find full size sheets that will correctly fit a full mattress. But I've found that many blankets come in a combo full/queen size, which tend to run about 8 inches wider than a full blanket, though the length is same. I recently bought a king size Velvet Plush blanket to use as a lightweight but cuddly bedspread on my queen bed, and I love it.
I don't know if this will help anyone, but if you have an adjustable bed, you're probably familiar with sheets popping off corners and material wadding up where the head rises. I tried so many specialty sheets to no avail. On a whim, I spread my queen Velvet Plush blanket over the mattress, which also has sort of a velour covering. These two fabrics hold on to each other no matter how many ups and down of the head and foot of the bed. It's amazing. Don't need any pockets to keep the blanket secure. And the blanket-sheet is so soft and lightweight. Wish I'd discovered this years ago, would have saved a lot of money!
