Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have for any pet owner. I have several rescue dogs, some of which are quite old now and not as diligent as they once were in letting us know when that have to go out. I purchased this as a replacement for my old Hoover and boy what a difference. In addition to stain removal I cleaned all of my carpets after seeing how well it did and was amazed, even carpets that had been routinely cleaned looked like new with this machine. This is the fifth carpet cleaner I have owned over the years, the others, Hoovers and and lower model Bissell's which I thought performed well are no comparison to this model. Higher capacity tanks are much easier to fill and dump and the upholstery cleaner actually works very well on this model, pulling up most of the water unlike others that would leave the furniture very wet. Wish I had made this purchase years ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product - recommend! I bought this carpet cleaner after reviewing many other products on the market. I was replacing my Bissell Pro2x Heat unit that had failed after many years of use (had so long forgot when i bought it) - the bladder and dirty water container finally failed. So, i upgraded to this Bissell Big Green unit and could not be happier! I must say it was definitely worth the extra investment. I have used the unit twice to clean my carpets. I have a Chow Chow (lots of hair) and two long haired cats and this machine has no issues cleaning up after them. I have yet to us this to clean my cat climber, stairs, furniture, and car interior, as i have just received my accessories. (separately ordered form Bissell) The clean water and dirty water units are a larger size which is convientsince do not need to empty and fill too often. The vacuum extracts most of the water and my carpet dry within a few hours (i washed them three times each cleaning) I would only recommend a couple design changes to the unit - a slightly wider cleaning spread and swivel wheel on the bottom to allow easier movement (similar to the pull along luggage). I definitely would recommend spending a little extra upfront and purchasing this unit if you clean your carpets a lot and want a unit that does a beautiful job on your carpets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful! Very happy 3 years later :) I have used this machine 100+ times & then a couple of months ago it stopped sucking up dirty water so well. Eventually water started spitting out top black/white spinner button. I found the authorized repair place & within a couple days they fixed it. Works just like new again! Best carpet cleaner I've ever used. Had been renting routinely at Lowes for a while before purchase. Absolutely works just as well ( I had thought maybe stores was more commercial version I guess). So glad I took plunge to purchase. Will keep your carpet beautiful & fluffy forever :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine I bought this machine after my old Bissell with the bladder would not extract all the fluid that was sprayed on the carpet. Plus I got tired of constantly having to empty and refill the VERY small tank and bladder. The Big Green got out stains that the other machine could not. I was able to clean my whole living room without having to empty and refill the tanks, my old machine wouldn't even do half of the room. PRO: Very large individual tanks. Being able to see how full the tanks were. Longer attachment hose. CONS: Does not have a heater to heat the water. There is not a clear rinse switch - the cleaning solution goes in with the clean water. I did a second pass after cleaning the whole room with just hot water to remove any residual cleaning solution. Machine was of course heavier and took a little more muscle to manuever it but I was able to do it and I have had back surgery. I also purchased the rotating brush attachment for the hose which worked great on the steps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best machine ever I purchased the Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine on 12/2/2012. It was shipped even before their estimated shipment date. I have cream colored carpeting in my whole house. I have 2 cats and 2 dogs that sometimes will get sick and stain the carpet. I have tried every stain cleaner imaginable. I even had a Bissel Pro steam. This past weekend I decided to clean the carpets. I took the machine out of the box and it was already assembled. The tanks were much larger making less filling and less emptying. The machine was easy to operate and I was amazed that all the stains came out and my carpet and looks like new again. I took pictures before and after and my friends couldn't believe the difference. A friend of mine owns rental properties and she said she will be getting one after I showed her the pictures. You may think that its pricey but it is well worth the money and will pay for itself in no time. I was a skeptic after reading the reviews thinking nothing could be this good but I am not a skeptic any longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Carpet Cleaner! I LOVE my big green machine! One of the things I absolutely love is that all of the compartments are cleanable. Like other shampooers you get hair and gunk stuck in certain places that aren't reachable to clean. Not this one! All of the places that suck through are cleanable. When I'm done I take the shampooer out back and use my hose to rinse through all of the compartments and it's just as clean as day 1. My carpets feel so clean under my feet. I will say at first I was pressing water trigger going forward then released for backward pass which didn't seem to work as I'd like. Then I discovered pressing water trigger while walking backward pass, releasing then going forward pass worked amazingly. Thanks Bissell!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best cleaner on the market I have owned 2 of the little green machines in the past and would not do without it in my house for small cleanups and the car so when I was able to afford the big green machine I jumped on it and happy I did! This is an amazing machine it has so much suction and cleaning power that It lightened an old stain I had from a spill years ago! It moves back and fourth too, not like the ones you rent, and even though this thing is heavy it is very easy to maneuver and that's coming from a person with bone cancer. The dry time was around an hour I would say but you can always put a fan on to make it dry faster,The only down side is I don't see the water getting sucked up and I'm not use to that

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good floor cleaner...but This machine is good at cleaning floors and does not require so much water to clean. The removable water containers is very convenient and is the best design I've seen thus far. The upholster hookup is very well design as well. It makes cleaning the carpet and re-filling so easy. However there is something i feel that should be better designed and that is the hand attachment upholster cleaner. It is not as effective at cleaning seats and sofa. There needs to be more angle between the brush head and the hand held tube. It is so flat that my fingers touch the fabric when I am scrubbing across the seats. Give more angle so I can apply more pressure when I am scrubbing. The head is a little too big as well. Make it smaller so I man maneuver tighter spaces and angles. The brushes don't agitate which is not good. The brush section needs to cover the entire length of the brush head as well. This makes scrubbing easier. Overall, I feel the hand attachment needs to be re-design, but the machine itself is as good as it gets.

Does this 'Steam Cleaner' produce steam?

Is there a steam button or switch?
Asked by: megellen
No there is no steam button and no it doesn't steam at all. It uses hot tap water, and does an excellent job.
