Rated 5 out of 5 by apekay from Mine lasted forever! This was a great purchase. I used it for many years (I just broke the pot a couple weeks ago; otherwise, she's still be going strong!) and it was always reliable and functioned perfectly. Thank you, B & D for making a great user friendly product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by dbcassidy from Used to be good - now only lasts six months There is nothing worse than programing your coffee maker the night before to produce a fresh pot at 4 AM and waking up to finding both the pump and hotplate on the coffee maker died resulting in no coffee. I don't know if Black and Decker changed components and got a bad batch, but this model isn't as good as the same B&D model from years past. Pros: Clock and delayed brew works. This machine brewed good coffee for the short time it worked. Cons: It only lasted six months before the hot plate and pump went. From other reviews it appears that this is a known and common problem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by DavidB from Lasted less than a year Bought this last December and recently stopped brewing. Should last longer than that. Wanted to see if I could figure out the problem myself but access cover is held on by screws with proprietary heads.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from purchased 7 months ago At first I loved my coffeemaker but then came this morning. I turned it on as usual to let it brew while I showered. After getting dressed I went to make my thermos full of coffee and noticed coffee on the floor. At first I thought I did not set the pot correcctly but found out I did and there was a crack at the bottom of the pot. I then noticed that while cleaning up the mess, the coffemaker turned back on by itself. I turned it off again and low and behold the darn thing came on again. Now my guess is the coffeemaker actually overheated because for the life of me I cannot understand how the pot got cracked. I washed it the day before and there was no crack at that time. Not only was there coffee on the floor but in my microwave as well as in the microwave door. Thus, no I would not recommend this model to anyone. I make a thermos full of coffe Monday-Friday and now have to buy figure out what I am going to do now because I cannot afford to purchase another coffeemaker seven months after purchasing this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by raza from good for the money... I haven't had any problems with mine...I really enjoy the coffee I make with it! It's almost 9 months old. Did I get lucky? Did someone get a lemon? I don't know the answer to that but I would recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from This product is very messy to use & maintain. Always buy B&D, but won't again. Steam gathers in top; when you lift top to take used filter/coffee out, all water runs to back of lid/top and onto the counter behind the maker. Big mess to clean up. Must pull coffee maker away from wall. When close lid down after this, rest of water flips out onto the counter on sides & front of maker, causing another mess. Basket also doesn't sit down easily; it is easy to get it off balance a bit so when you pull the maker out before it is finished, the coffee making doesn't cease while you pour a cup early. Another bigger mess! Programming is fine on this unit. Works fine. However, in our household we don't have time to constantly clean up messes around the unit. Also water runs under other things on counter and we have to move them to clean and dry. Poorly designed lid, not at all user friendly. We've always considered B&D to have good engineering; they missed it on this one. Wish we could take it back, but it's too late for that now & we no longer have the receipt. Took a few months for me to think of writing this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from This coffee maker lasted 4 mths. Thinking B&D might make a better product then Mr. Coffee, I bought the 12-cup programable unit and it hasn't been that long until it one day began clicking itself on & off, on & off, when I heard that noise and discovered it was the coffe pot, I found the pot Hot. I could not get it to stop turning itself on even after unplugging it for a few minutes and re-setting the clock and delay. I kept it unplugged because I don't trust it. I tried iit this morning to see if I could get it to work and water leaked all out through the bottom of the unit... IT's DONE.... OF Course I threw the box away (I have a small place without adequate storage space to keep mountains of boxes just for this purpose) and I didn't keep the receipt, figuring in a couple years I would splurge for a new one ( Ha! ). So I'm out the money and have no coffe pot now. DO THEY MAKE ANYTHING THAT LASTS EVEN FOR JUST A FEW YEARS????? Miss De-caffinated
