Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect!! I've had one of these in my kitchen window for over 3 years. Last week it split from the hot desert sun so I ordered a replacement. The shade needs to be trimmed to fit but that is a very simple task. These keep the light and the heat out extremely well and I am super pleased. I tried the other shade that isn't homey comb and it doesn't do nearly as well keeping the heat/sun out, though it looked just fine. Please see photos I attached. Thank you JCP for the speedy delivery and quality products. I bought five total so I always have extras since I have these installed in 4 windows. Five stars all the way around! July 7, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Nightmare installation Installing this was a nightmare. No window is perfectly round, but this fits only a perfectly round window. We had to cut it a bit shorter to fit it in the window, which we finally figured out. But then the weight of it caused the fabric to bend and collapse in on itself in the middle, so it has clumps of dark compressed areas. Nothing we did could smooth these out. The nails were impossible so it is mounted just with the sticky tape provided. It does not look good. But, of course, we can't return it now. If I could do it over again I would not get the insulated blind, but just the plain pleated paper one. Then it would be lighter, hold its shape, and be easier to cut to fit the window. It would still block some of the sunlight and keep the room a bit cooler even without the insulation. We may end up taking this one out and doing just that, it looks so bad. And my husband is a handy man! This was way too impossible. June 25, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works for hard-to-insulate windows It's just what it says--arch window shade that really helps block heat. I have dual pane windows, and this shade helps with the rest while still allowing great light through. I'd love to see a small redesign to give the arch better support from within the shade itself so one side of the shade could be mounted with hook and loop or a clip of some sort that would allow the shade to be opened completely. Fantastic value in this shade. July 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent quality This shade was perfect for our arched window & provides ample shade on a sunny day. The cellular design is much more expensive at other places. June 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent value Ready-made shades this size are hard to find, and the alternative is expensive, custom-made ones. These shades look great, and I installed them without the added hardware by tilting them slightly toward the window. July 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cuts sunlight and heat coming in through the windows. The celluar shades were just what we needed to cut down on the sun coming in the arched window in the bedroom and dining room. It also makes the rooms cooler. June 15, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good value product. Decent quality. Bad instructions to install. Ignore the screws, Glue it, instead. The product is decent and a great value for the price. I had problem installing the product, as per instructions provided. I could not figure out how to "attach", after the brackets are in place and screwed to the window sill/bottom frame. It seems impossible to do it. I finally ignored the instructions to screw down the brackets and I instead glued the whole assembly to the window bottom frame. If the word "attach" meant "snap in", the plastic is too hard to flex- snap. It may work okay, if the window sill protrudes (out of the wall). In which case one can "slide" the whole assembly from either side. May 6, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by No longer blinded by the sun I purchased 3 sets of these arch blinds after a very disappointing experience with 3day blinds. I read the reviews for these blinds so I expected that I would have to cut these to fit my windows. It was not horrible cutting the blinds if you have the right saw. Once cut the blinds were very easy to install. Are they the perfect fit, no but they are pretty darn close and they look nice. These blinds do the job, keeping the sun out and the privacy in. I would recommend these to my friends. April 22, 2016

Answer:
Yes, it can, but you may not like the results. I have done two of these--one with a fine-toothed power miter saw. It melted the polyester fabric on the edge, and I had to work a little to get it opened up again properly.

I did the other one with a razor knife--that took a long time to get through the plastic frame.

The cellular material is stick int he frame with some glue or something. If one could get the cellular fabric out, cut the frame and ensure a good fit in the window, then insert the fabric back into the frame after trimming it perfectly for your window.

In sum...this should be a piece of cake. I am very handy, framing walls and putting up new beams in our ceiling to open walls. And I did a terrible job on it. I should stick with 2x4s.

Answer:
Yes it can. I had to trim mine. Close the fan up tight and cut the unfinished end (that fits behind the plastic sunburst) equal to the height of the arch with a fine hacksaw. Then, cut only the material an inch shorter to allow it to fit over the sunburst piece without bunching up. You'll never know it was trimmed. Good luck.

Answer:
Yes, very easily. Just measure and mark with fan closed and taped where you want to cut. I used a hacksaw.

Answer:
Yes, it can be done but it is not easy. you need to cut the plastic with a hacksaw and the shade with shears. we found out that opening up the shade and cutting it in place was better than leaving it folded but you need many hands to keep it open and even while you are cutting.

Answer:
No. The shade is not designed for modification. I bought this shade having the same base width as my arch window frame, it was too wide. The base of the shade is made of two plastic pieces that stick out about one-half inch on both sides from the shade itself. I sawed down the ends but since the shade is not designed to be cut, the damage is very noticeable up close.

My advice is to buy a shade at least 1 to 2 inches in width shorter than the width of your frame. The cellular material is cut to a standard fit by the manufacturer.

I hope this helps.

Answer:
The Arch Cellular Shade that we purchased from J C Penneys was placed on a very tall window ... so I did not put it up myself. I asked our handyman (who installed the shade for me) and he said yes it could be trimmed to fit.

Answer:
I'm a novice at this as well but somehow came out with the correct measurements as my Cellular Shade fits perfectly. I initially measured for height from the top of the arch to the bottom of arch. Next I measured the width from inside of window frame from one end to the other. I just matched my measurements to the shade size that matched closest to my measurements. The Arch Cellular Shade can be mounted directly inside the window frame or on the outside if your measurements are a little off as the frame can be mounted on the outside of the frame if there is a ledge for mounting the base to.

Answer:
I purchased one of these with dimensions 59"w x 29.5"l. 59"w is the width of the base frame of the arch window and 29.5"l is the radius from the center of the base frame to the highest most point of the arch window frame.
My advice is to get a shade at least one to two inches in width shorter than your frame. The shades plastic casing sticks out about a half inch on each end and will not fit the exact measurement.

Measure the diameter of the arch -- the long straight side at the bottom. Measure the inside where the arch will go, not the outside.
