Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Purchase I bought these shades to address a morning light problem in my bedroom. When the sun came up it was like a spotlight shining through the mini blinds that hung on the three large windows. I finally gave in and bought these cellular shades wondering if they would even make a difference. I have to say that it was money very well spent. These cellular shades really block out the morning light! There is a little light that comes in from around the edges of the shade since I had to do an outside mount but I made sure I bought a little wider than the actual window width and that really helps to keep the light "bleed" to a minimum. They also keep the room cooler on hot summer days. These shades are also easy to install and the quality is great. I am absolutely thrilled that I bought these and would buy them again for other rooms if the need arises.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shades! I purchased these shades to replace the cellular (non-blackout) shades that I've had for 7 years. I absolutely loved those & they still work perfectly, just needed a "cooler" toned color. I ordered the bright white and rockefeller gray, but decided (before I opened them) to go with the bright white. While they are absolutely perfect for the color scheme of my room, BEWARE that they are not really bright white because you can see the blackout material through the gauziness of the shade giving it a pale grey tint. They do really well blacking out the daylight though. All in all an absolutely great product for a great price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this shade Love this shade. I brought (4) cellular shades from JCPenney over 10 years ago, and one by one they are now needing to be replaced. I purchased (2) of these blackout shades a few months ago. Thankfully once you purchase thru JCPenney you can look back at the item number on line thru your account and quickly purchase the item again if needed. Love the new shade, did not have the black out feature prior to the first purchase of this particular one, but love it, and no visible cords another, bonus to me. Would highly recommend this to anyone. And have to many of my family and friends.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Difficult to install The blinds do the job as far as room darkening; however, it took an extraordinary amount of time to install. The brackets are cheap, thin metal of some kind and almost impossible to "snap" into place when you are standing on a ladder pushing up. It took me over an hour to fight with four brackets and the last one was so frustrating, I just gave up and let it hang. My upper body muscles ached and my hands literally couldn't push up any more. I was so angry that I just wanted to hammer the blinds into a pulp. I resisted that urge and instead will return the other 2 blinds purchased because I'm not about to attempt this a 2nd time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great blackout blinds for nursery I first bought these blinds for my son's nursery a few years ago. They work wonderfully and could stand up to the destruction of a two year old boy. The cord free feature is ideal and they slide up and down easily without getting stuck or uneven. I most recently just bought another pair for baby-to-be's nursery and am just as pleased. They look great AND serve their purpose which is exactly what I look for when shopping. Very good quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this is an excellent blind that keeps all light out and is very easy to raise and lower. they also do not have cords which are dangerous to children Cords are also dangerous to pets. so these blinds are much safer in your home. I bought white and I love them. they even make the room warmer by keeping out some of the cold. and in the summer , I'm sure they will keep out the sun when you are trying to air condition your home. overall--- a great buy. I still need 3 more, and I am going to order them very soon. thanks JCP for always offering quality merchandise!!

what is the difference between the JCP Home and the JCP Home Mirage Blackout Cordless Cellular Shade

Asked by: autumn
The blackout cellular shades are just that; blackout. They have a black lining inside the cells. The other cellular shades let filtered light in and are white inside the cells. I bought both and am quite happy with both. Blackout for my bedroom and light filtering for my sunroom. They are easy to install and easy to use.

i want an inside mount on a window 22 3/8 are the 23 inch the width of the blind or will this be too wide.

Asked by: Gayle
It will probably be too wide. I found the measurements of the shades to be accurate and it is better to have the shades a half inch less than too wide and not fit the space.

windows are 33.5, I need 6. Do I order a 32 or a 34 or none.

Asked by: pamela
I think there's another shade that can be cut to size? I would wait until that goes on sale and cut it to your size. Mine were 32 1/8-1/4 and they fit perfectly. If you need the blackout, probably neither size will work for you.

I need 36by48

Can I use 36by64 since it looks like it can't be shorten. Because 35by48 will have gap for light to enter.
Asked by: Gigi
Yes. Our windows are two different sizes, both were 36 in width, one was 48 in height the other was 60. Shades worked great on both windows.

Are the width measurements true to size, or is the actual size smaller? And if smaller, by how much?

For example, is the 36" wide shade a true 36", or is the actual width only 35 1/2"? And, if the actual width is smaller than the stated width, is it consistently smaller across all of the sizes (23 is 22 1/2, 27 is 26 1/2, etc.)
Asked by: Brian
actual size I believe
