Saratoga cut--to-width blackout shade features a light-blocking layer sandwiched between two layers of vinyl for privacy and light control. Note: Roller shades will be slightly narrower than the width ordered; to avoid the resulting light gap on each side and to achieve maximum privacy and light control, consider outside mount.

  • cordless product safe for homes with young children and pets
  • cut to the exact width you need from 15" to 73¼" wide
  • embossed vinyl with the look of fabric
  • fringed bottom hem
  • white on street side except ivory which is the same color on both sides
  • heavy-duty spring roller mechanism allows you to adjust shade to any height

Fits windows up to 64" long. Inside or outside casing installation. Window must be at least ¾" deep for inside mount, 2¼" deep for flush inside mount. Mounting hardware and instructions included. Shades wipe clean with a damp cloth. Imported.

To Order: You will be able to specify the exact width you need for your shade. For inside mount, subtract 1/8" from your overall width to account for mounting brackets.

Note: If you are ordering more than one shade within the same size range and want the shades cut to different widths, you must place each shade in the shopping bag separately.

Spring motor roller shades are manufactured with approximately 8” of extra fabric added to the length. This is required for the proper operation of the spring activated roller mechanism.

FREE SWATCH: If you would like to receive a swatch of the fabric prior to ordering the item, please e-mail customerservice@phaseii.com to receive a sample swatch of fabric. Please include your name, address, item description and color that corresponds with your selection. Allow 5 days to receive the swatch.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad for price Timing had it that we got these shades at a tremendous discount. They've been fine so far. The material is thinner than the shades that were on the windows before, so time will tell how well they hold up. The main problem we had was in ordering them. They were custom sizes so we followed the guidelines on the MEASURE tab at the link, "helpful blinds and shades guide" to measure them. For an outside mount (which we have), the only instruction given for measuring the width is, "measure exactly where the window covering with be." We took that to mean the width of the fabric part, and they came in way too short. After several phone calls and discussions with different sales people at JCP.com and the stores (who all gave different instructions), we took the word of one of them and measured from the tip of the fixed flat pin to the tip of the pin on the other side WITH IT PUSHED IN ALL THE WAY. JCP took back the old shades and reordered them for us with the new measurements, and they came in at the correct size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value! I purchased 4 of these shades on sale for a great deal and am very pleased. I had planned to buy curtains and/or valances to go over them, but they look great all by themselves - very clean lines. One of the four came slightly bent so it is difficult to open and close. I'm sure JCPenney would have replaced it had I complained, but I've been too busy and for what I paid, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle. That particular one goes in bedroom so I'm not too worried about it. They are pretty good quality - great quality for what I paid for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I know many people had good experience with these blinds. Since this was new construction, I was very disappointed in the company who sized the final cut, from what I gave them, as not fitting and covering my window properly. They ended up taking an overall total of 1 1/4" more off, which completely exposed my frame. Plus, the cutting was not even on both sides and each side only covered right to the edge of the glass, at frame and didn't extend covering the window frame. This causes light to escape on the sides. According to the description in how to measure, which I've done before professionally, it stated that you should take 1/8" off of the total width of window for inside mounting. I did that. Window measured 22 7/8" and after taking off 1/8", it ended being 22 3/4". I can't image taking off 1/8" on each side, as some have commented to do. Then 1/4th of my glass would've been exposed on each side...geez! I figured since the blinds were so cheap in price,(love the scalloped fringe) I'd deal with it and later ordered something much better. Now as far as the blackout! what blackout? NOT blackout as light still comes through.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheaply Made and Not Blackout! I am a night nurse and therefore sleep days. I was excited to have "blackout" blinds so that I might start sleeping better. I received these blinds and they were cheaply made. The roller is made of cardboard and they were bent so of course they won't roll closed. They also let a tremendous amount of light in even though they are "custom cut". I will be throwing them away and hanging blankets back over my windows until I have time to find another option. Don't waste your money or time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, love, love these shades and ease of installation and care. Many years ago I had shades on my windows with scalloped fringe like these. I cannot stand blinds personally due to the upkeep and trying to keep them clean, so when contemplating the redo of my living room / dining room I decided to look for roller shades in colors to match my décor. I really hit the jackpot and am so happy with the easy care of just wiping them off weekly along with the color selection available. It was exactly what I needed to transform my dull drab windows into a light airy combination and bring the outside into the rooms in the daytime yet close for nighttime privacy. I love them and proceeded to order for my own bedroom too and now will order for the other two bedrooms in the house. Thank you J.C. Penny's for making my home so bright and cheery at a price that cannot be matched by another store for quality, price, and décor. I love this transformation at such a low price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from They were of good quality and were easy to install. I ordered four at 19 1/8. I got two at 19 1/4, one at 19 1/8, and one at 19. My inside measurement is 19 1/4, so as instructed, I ordered 19 1/8. Of course the 19 just fell off hanger, so it was returned. The ordered size was okay, but the 19 1/4 were perfect. I reordered at 19 1/4, wonder what size I will actually get..? I rated the meets expectations only at average because of the measurements. If the measurements had been good, there would have been an excellent rating because I really like the way the ones that fit well look...and the price is right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these shades! After looking at many shade options online, and becoming overwhelmed, I found these shades on clearance and checked them out closer. The fact that my windows are two different sizes and these shades come cut to the size I want is awesome. I am so glad I bought them. They fit my windows perfectly, were so easy to install, with several installation options. Also easy to tighten or loosen the spring. I mainly wanted shades to help keep out some of the cold during our WNY winters. My kitchen now has a new little touch of class!

How much to add to desired width

I would like a simple answer to -- how much do i need to add to desired width to account for the pin extension .
Asked by: smakiran
Use the actual measurement of your window. The blinds will be cut (very poorly!) to account for the mounting brackets.

Can I trim width myself?

Mine arrived about 1/4 to 1/2 inch too wide. Will the tube slide down, if I trim myself? If not, I'll have to return them.
Asked by: Ellen
No, you can't trim yourself. At least I couldn't.

If the inside measurement of my window is 32w x 39 L what size should I order?

Asked by: Susan
I would leave an 1/8" to 3/16 of an inch for movement up and down. You do not want it to be snug inside the window

I now have these shades and they need replaced soon. I want to use existing outside window hardware.

How do I measure the width.!!Do I use end of roller to end of roller and that is the width OR do I use measurement end of pin to end of pin and that gives me width. There is no room for error and the brackets are in metal.
Asked by: JoAnn
Use total width- bracket to bracket ( pin to pin ).

I want to do outside mount and reverse roll. Is this possible? And if I do this will the color show to the outside of window?
Asked by: BellaBecca
Yes, you can reverse roll the shade for outside mount. And the color side of the shade will be facing outside.
