Product Description

The Saratoga cut-to-width roller shade effectively blocks light and ensures privacy, with a light-blocking blackout layer sandwiched between two layers of vinyl. Note: Roller shades will be slightly narrower than the width ordered; to avoid the resulting light gap on each side and to achieve maximum privacy and light control, consider outside mount.

  • cordless product safe for homes with young children and pets
  • cut to the exact width you need from 15" to 73¼" wide
  • embossed vinyl with the look of fabric
  • white on street side except ivory which is the same color on both sides
  • heavy-duty spring roller mechanism allows you to adjust shade to any height

Fits windows up to 64" long. Inside or outside casing installation. Window must be at least ¾" deep for inside mount, 2¼" deep for flush inside mount. Mounting hardware and instructions included. Shades wipe clean with a damp cloth. Imported.

To Order: After measuring your windows, select the size range you need, and the color and quantity and click on "add to bag." You will then be able to specify the exact width you need for your shade. For inside mount, subtract 1/8" from your overall width to account for mounting brackets.

Note: If you are ordering more than one shade within the same size range and want the shades cut to different widths, you must place each shade in the shopping bag separately.

Spring motor roller shades are manufactured with approximately 8” of extra fabric added to the length. This is required for the proper operation of the spring activated roller mechanism.

FREE SWATCH: If you would like to receive a swatch of the fabric prior to ordering the item, please e-mail customerservice@phaseii.com to receive a sample swatch of fabric. Please include your name, address, item description and color that corresponds with your selection. Allow 5 days to receive the swatch.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Nice shades. Not worth the hassle. These are a nice quality shade for the price but even ordering them was an ordeal. The mobile site never indicates that you can't enter sizes on mobile so I went all the way through the ordering process twice, thinking the option would be on the next screen. i finally gave up and ordered from my laptop. It would've let me order without sizes if I hadn't been paying attention. They are cut to the EXACT specs I ordered and the color/quality are nice but they're crimped for some reason, and I can't figure out how to get the crimps out. (See pic) They also arrived rolled too loose to actually roll up and down. I've spent hours adjusting all 6 that I ordered so they even function as normal blinds. They're nice, but probably not worth the hassle. If I can't get these crimps out I'll probably be returning them. May 18, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by If you're replacing your old ones, don't measure the shade itself - measure the window! We're on our third set of these since 1994 - I love them! They're perfect for our needs. Usually, my husband measures & tells me what to get. This time, I tried to do it myself (insert rolling eye emoji here). I measured the shade itself because I thought I wanted to match them exactly (so I could use the same brackets - you know, make it easy). When they arrived, they were way too narrow. I thought okay, I'll measure the actual rollers on the shades. Wrong again! I took both wrong sets into the store & asked what I was doing wrong. They were so nice & explained that you're supposed to measure the actual window. The people who cut them figure out the rest for you. May 5, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Blinds Great - Screws cheap I love the look of these blinds and I put up all 5 of these fairly quickly by myself. Within 24 hours, the blinds were falling down as the heads of the screws were breaking off. The screws were very cheap and flimsy. We had to try to remove the broken portion of the screws out of the wood and some we were unable to get out. Fortunately, there were other holes in the brackets that we were able to use to place other quality screws. If you purchase, plan on using better screws for installation. May 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Shade does the job and protects the house from sun and people looking in. Even though I measured wrong, my husband was able to wiggle the hardware for the shades and they are installed and doing a good job. The color is great with our neutral walls. I had ordered fringed shades for the bedroom, but kept the straight edged ones for the kitchen and dining room as my husband doesn't like the fringe. The shades are doing their job. May 18, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Work great The shades were very easy to put up and were the perfect touch for my office. May 18, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Simple but does the job I got two of these for my son's bedroom to go under sheer curtains and another one to go in our playroom where my husband sleeps during the day when he works nights. The idea in both situations was to darken the room to aid in sleeping. Aside from light coming in at the edges (I wouldn't say they blackout the room), the room gets pretty dark with these. In the playroom, if I get curtains to go with it, I think we can get it pretty black! As far as looks, the tannish ones I got for the bedroom exceeded my expectations, because they didn't look like the typical roller shade, being that color. The plain white one I got for the other room is a little uglier, in my opinion. The tan ones would look great with something covering the top roller part, which is the only part that really looks like a cheap roller shade to me. April 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product at a great price. We bought the same or very similar shades from Penny's for our house 20 years ago and they are still in good shape except for the ones we pull up and down several times a day. Those are starting to split where we grab them to pull them up or down. We could have just replaced those but as they are cheap we went with all new. I still had the measurements for the old shades so I ordered the same size and all of them fit in the old hardware mounts. No need to move any of the old mounting hardware making it very easy for me. May 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better than expected These were on a super sale and I took a chance to replace the shades in my bathroom and a bedroom. They came quickly, installed easily, fit perfectly, and they roll very well up and down. Colors were true. May 18, 2016

Thickness of shade
What is the thickness of these shades? I am looking for 12 mm thick shades.

Answer:
These are nowhere near 12 mm; they are closer to the thickness of heavy printer paper. Are you sure you're looking for something that thick? I've never seen that before.

Answer:
I can't believe I wrote 12mm when I meant 12mil. I have found shades in thicknesses from 4mil to 12mil, with the 12mil being the most heavy and light-blocking. That's what I'm looking for, but JCPenney doesn't list the thickness for their blackout shades.

Answer:
The material is quite thin, but totally opaque. A 4' shade, when rolled up has about 12 layers on the roller (so it needs to be thin). You said you were looking for 12mm (which is about 1/2"). If you really need that thickness you probably want to use plywood. :)

Probably is my best guess. However, we installed the hardware/brackets that came with the shades. We are extremely satisfied with the shades top notch quality and plan to order more in the near future.

Answer:
I would imagine the existing hardware would work if it has the standard latch and hole construction. You can always test the new shade in the existing hardware before replacing the hardware. That would definitely be a time saver.

By width, do you mean the width of the shade itself, the width of the roller minus the two stems that fit into the holders, or the width of the roller including the two stems?

I would also like to know if I am to give the measurement that is the width of the blind, or do I include the stems and ends of the roller? I would like to order soon if someone can answer this. I am replacing shades that are mounted outside, thank you!

Answer:
Thank you, but my question was not about the width of the window frame. It was about the width of the roller itself, plus or minus the fittings at the end. I hope very much that someone at JCP will address this question.

I measured the distance between the two innermost parts of the frame that holds the window. The folks at JCPenney cut it perfectly.

Answer:
There's a rod in the bottom for weight. You'd be cutting off the rod. I DON'T recommend it. They'll work just fine if they're too long. The extra won't show...no harm done.

I do not think the length can be cut. They are on the roll and the bottom has a seal to pull up and down. Great deal for this sale price I got!
