by torinosmiles Defective Blind
The blind is beautiful in color and the fabric side which faces the room looks and feels of very good quality. The problem though is on the white side which faces the street. The blind arrives with no problems showing. Then after the blind is rolled up and down a couple of times, holes start developing on the white side of the blind. The holes do not come all the way through to the colored side. But when the sun is shining and the blind is down, the holes are very obvious since the sun shines through them. It's as if there is something sticky that pulls the white and makes it start peeling off. The holes always appear in the same place on each blind. They are located in the middle of the blind, going straight up and down, beginning about 3 feet up from the bottom of the blind. Pennys has replaced the blind for me 4 times. And it is doing it on this 4th one also.

by Robindays sizing was difficult; screws very cheap
I ordered three shades with two different widths 1/4 inch apart. They smallest one is actually at least an inch shorter. We were able to get two of the shades to fit, but one of the wide ones was too wide for any of the three windows (the shortest one was almost too short, but it works). We did an inside mount -- the screws are very cheap and we were afraid we'd strip them, so we had to find screws that worked better than the ones they provided. We ended up using decking screws which had a star bit. The heads stick out a little but don't show behind the screen. The holes in the side mount bracket application are VERY close to the window itself, making it nearly impossible to use a drill or drill bit -- we had to bring out the mount about 1/4 inch to be able to use the drill. The mount, because it is designed for all purposes (including outside mount) does not work that great for an inside mount. In fact, this was one of the problems trying to get the shade to fit -- it sticks out a good 1/4-3/8 inch total (1/2 that on both sides, in other words -- see pic), giving us that much less space for the shade for side to side. I had to reorder the shade that didn't fit, and I ordered 1/4 inch shorter rather than 1/8 shorter that they say to order. Because of all this (trying to make it work), there was a great deal of hassle to putting these up and trying to make them work. They do seem to be what we need (something to block sun glare). The price was fair for what we got on sale. It is not worth the full price, however.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jennifer incredible value
I bought 3 of these for my husband's workshop in the barn. They fit the windows perfectly and help keep the heat in. We have the JCPenney blackout (vinyl) roller shades in all the bedrooms in our house but these thermal shades are a very nice thick fabric and the chestnut is a beautiful dark shade of brown. I also could not be happier with how quickly they shipped. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PCbemidji This is just what I wanted for a shade.
My main priorities were to get a cordless shade, and something that would help insulate my office window through the cold MN winters. This shade fits both of these exactly. I am very happy with the value & quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by holygate These roller shades fit my needs perfectly
I just needed to replace 2 pull down, room darkening shades for a child's room. Just basic functional shades were needed and I didn't want to spend much money.
I actually checked with my hardware store to see if the old ones could be repaired and they suggested I just go to JC penny to replace them...it wouldn't cost much. Good suggestion, I am glad I got new proper functioning shades and they look great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Denise Blocks sunlight well but poor quality
I am pleased that this shade blocks out the sunlight but that's the only positive. The right side of the shade is frayed and cut poorly and the hardware provided is not adequate. Had I not disposed of the current window treatment I would have returned this shade. Customer service will not replace until shade is returned. Be careful when unrolling for the first time as this has some type of adhesive/stickiness when unrolling. Lesson learned...I should have read other reviews.

We ordered these thermal window shades for 5 of our windows. They fit and work very well. They really block the sunlight. It's like a home theater when we pull them.
