Product Description

The Saratoga cut-to-width roller shade effectively blocks light and ensures privacy, with a light-blocking blackout layer sandwiched between two layers of vinyl. Note: Roller shades will be slightly narrower than the width ordered; to avoid the resulting light gap on each side and to achieve maximum privacy and light control, consider outside mount.

  • cordless product safe for homes with young children and pets
  • cut to the exact width you need from 15" to 73¼" wide
  • embossed vinyl with the look of fabric
  • white on street side except ivory which is the same color on both sides
  • heavy-duty spring roller mechanism allows you to adjust shade to any height

Fits windows up to 64" long. Inside or outside casing installation. Window must be at least ¾" deep for inside mount, 2¼" deep for flush inside mount. Mounting hardware and instructions included. Shades wipe clean with a damp cloth. Imported.

To Order: After measuring your windows, select the size range you need, and the color and quantity and click on "add to bag." You will then be able to specify the exact width you need for your shade. For inside mount, subtract 1/8" from your overall width to account for mounting brackets.

Note: If you are ordering more than one shade within the same size range and want the shades cut to different widths, you must place each shade in the shopping bag separately.

Spring motor roller shades are manufactured with approximately 8” of extra fabric added to the length. This is required for the proper operation of the spring activated roller mechanism.

FREE SWATCH: If you would like to receive a swatch of the fabric prior to ordering the item, please e-mail customerservice@phaseii.com to receive a sample swatch of fabric. Please include your name, address, item description and color that corresponds with your selection. Allow 5 days to receive the swatch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by a perfect choice for a budget These blinds work nicely in my son's room. He has privacy and a lack of light. I didn't measure that well, so the blinds are a little small but not bad. The room doesn't have to be perfectly blacked out so it works well for us. They arrived so quickly and were easy to hang. Rated 2 out of 5 by Nice shades. Not worth the hassle. These are a nice quality shade for the price but even ordering them was an ordeal. The mobile site never indicates that you can't enter sizes on mobile so I went all the way through the ordering process twice, thinking the option would be on the next screen. i finally gave up and ordered from my laptop. It would've let me order without sizes if I hadn't been paying attention. They are cut to the EXACT specs I ordered and the color/quality are nice but they're crimped for some reason, and I can't figure out how to get the crimps out. (See pic) They also arrived rolled too loose to actually roll up and down. I've spent hours adjusting all 6 that I ordered so they even function as normal blinds. They're nice, but probably not worth the hassle. If I can't get these crimps out I'll probably be returning them. May 18, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good room-darkening shade I was a bit nervous about ordering a shade online, but the directions for how to measure for it were clear (though JCP should make the text of those instructions BLACK, not pale gray--tough on my eyes!). I measured twice and then measured again (to make sure!), and the method worked--when the shade arrived it was cut so that the width of the shade itself (the vinyl fabric) came where I wanted. The shade material is perhaps a bit thin (or I'd have given it a higher rating), but not flimsy like a lot of shades in the DIY stores. The piece of plastic to stiffen the bottom of the shade was in the package separately, and you insert it yourself. The shade was easy to install (brackets/screws/ plastic screw sleeves for installing on wallboard were included--the sleeves aren't needed if you install on the wood window frame). The shade totally darkens the room, which is what I wanted it to do. When I picked up the shade at my local JCP, I found that the window-treatment department did not sell shade-pulls. I had to go the my local DIY store to get the plastic slide-on finger grip to put on the bottom of the shade. I bought the shade on a terrific sale, so I am satisfied with the price/value calculation. June 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by I have purchase these blinds for years, not disappointed We first bought our home 25 years ago, at which time, I replaced all the mini blinds with these cut to size blinds from JCP. Of course, I don't still have the same ones as 25 years ago .... they last a long time, but not 25 years ...., but I have replaced them with the same blinds when needed. They've always been cut to the correct size. They are durable and will last for years. They work well to darken the room, even in the middle of the afternoon ..... you can sleep in the middle of the day if that's necessary for you. The price can't be beat. June 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quick, east, effortless Honestly, the hardest part about the order was trying to figure out what width measurement I needed. They were new going into one room, replacements in another. I wish I had added at least one inch to block more light on the sides, but for the replacements, it turned out to be the exact fit, so no need to move brackets. June 15, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Look very nice, functionally they are terrible We bought several custom vinyl roller shades from JCP years ago and we were well pleased with them. They finally wore out, so we ordered 6 more recently. They look great and the colors are nice, but functionally they are awful. Three out of the six whip up by themselves at any point after being pulled down, often after 1/2 hour or more... while I'm sleeping, waking me up. This has happened twice this week, and more times over the time we've owned them. Not a very pleasant experience. Very disappointed, I would not recommend them. June 13, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by I was skeptical The price was such a bargain I ordered 6 in two different colors. I was quite pleased with the performance but would have liked if the material was a bit sturdier. June 16, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by The hardware (screws) break after installation. We hung 3 blinds and then suddenly the heads of the screws just popped off. We had trouble removing the screws and then went to a hardware store to buy new screws. June 16, 2016

What is the thickness of these shades? I am looking for 12 mm thick shades.

Answer:
These are nowhere near 12 mm; they are closer to the thickness of heavy printer paper. Are you sure you're looking for something that thick? I've never seen that before.

Answer:
I can't believe I wrote 12mm when I meant 12mil. I have found shades in thicknesses from 4mil to 12mil, with the 12mil being the most heavy and light-blocking. That's what I'm looking for, but JCPenney doesn't list the thickness for their blackout shades.

Answer:
The material is quite thin, but totally opaque. A 4' shade, when rolled up has about 12 layers on the roller (so it needs to be thin). You said you were looking for 12mm (which is about 1/2"). If you really need that thickness you probably want to use plywood. :)

Probably is my best guess. However, we installed the hardware/brackets that came with the shades. We are extremely satisfied with the shades top notch quality and plan to order more in the near future.

Answer:
I would imagine the existing hardware would work if it has the standard latch and hole construction. You can always test the new shade in the existing hardware before replacing the hardware. That would definitely be a time saver.

By width, do you mean the width of the shade itself, the width of the roller minus the two stems that fit into the holders, or the width of the roller including the two stems?

I would also like to know if I am to give the measurement that is the width of the blind, or do I include the stems and ends of the roller? I would like to order soon if someone can answer this. I am replacing shades that are mounted outside, thank you!

Thank you, but my question was not about the width of the window frame. It was about the width of the roller itself, plus or minus the fittings at the end. I hope very much that someone at JCP will address this question.

I measured the distance between the two innermost parts of the frame that holds the window. The folks at JCPenney cut it perfectly.

Answer:
I don't know if manufacturer will cut the length to another size, but I doubt it since there is no room to specify that on the site. However, you can always get the 64", you just have to roll it to your desired length and leave the rest unrolled.

Answer:
There's a rod in the bottom for weight. You'd be cutting off the rod. I DON'T recommend it. They'll work just fine if they're too long. The extra won't show...no harm done.
