I was thrilled this knife was on sale. Feels great in your hand for a few minutes- gets heavy really quick. Made fajitas, lots of chopping and it just was too much of a weight. Very disappointed.

I have been wishing for a chef's knife for years. In the past, I have used a steak knife for parring, and a butcher knife for chopping so when I received this chef's knife, I was very excited to try it out.
When I received it, I actually cut myself as I took it out of the packaging, so be aware that this knife is super sharp.
My first veggie to chop was napa cabbage for my Chinese Lion's Head Meatballs. It was so sharp and smooth, that my chopping was effortless, painless and in a jiffy. I love the weight of the knife and the nice grip of the handle. I really like that the handle is not made of bamboo or wood that my cheap butcher knife has. Because of its design, it was very easy to clean. One minor issue with the use of this knife was that since it is super sharp, my Kitchen Aid polypropylene cutting board was also getting cut with each chop. It's a minor annoyance, but aside from that, I give this knife 5 stars because it has the quality I am looking for.

The tip of this knife broke off today when we were making dinner.
What do I need to do to replace it?
We have enjoyed the knife for about 2 1/2 years.

Bought this knife inspite of being expensive, but the knfe blade broke in to two pieces. Bed Bath & Beyond is of no help in replacing this product. Could someone help

I'm not sure how people are breaking this knife!! I've been using it in a professional kitchen for prep and online use for around a year and a half. It has plenty of dings and scrapes but the knife is solid!!! Been dropped multiple time even broke the top dropping it and grinded the blade a bit and good as new!!! I love this knife it's weight and feel in the hand it does however lose edge some what quick(have to sharpen about every 2weeks) but as I said it's a commercial kitchen lol. My only issue is I can't find a cover made for that knife just a standard one on it.

I bought this knife as a gift for my daughter. It will be her first "real" knife. I have three Calphalon knives and love them! They stay sharp for a long time, feel great in the hand and enhance my cooking experience.

I was so excited when I got this knife in the mail. See, we had broken the last of our old cheep knives. Once we got to this last one (number 4 to be snapped off at the handle), I said we were going with quality this time! And this one IS quality.
So why do we keep breaking the knives? Well, my husband likes to cut up ice cream in the container to make it easy to serve. So you can imagine the stress that puts on a knife! The last 2 knives that we had, we had only had for about 6 weeks before they cracked. This one we've had for about a month and it still looks brand new.
Beyond ice cream, we've done a lot of chopping vegetables, potatoes, meats, and fruit. The handle is very nice in my hand, having a very good grip and weight. I like that you can see that the blade and the handle are one piece. This knife is quality!

I bought this when I started cooking for myself more a few years ago and as I dove into coming into my own as a at home cook this knife did nothing but impress me. It's an extension of my arm at this point and is great for the price. This is a heavy, nice, sharp knife that has to be cared for though. Be kind to it and you will be rewarded by it's durability.
Better to buy one nice knife that will last years than to buy 1 cheap one every year for a decade.
The only word of caution is that this knife is heavy. The handle and the blade are full tang and it's a serious heft compared to cheaper knives. I love this about it, but I've found others are scared of using it due to it's heft. You adjust to it quickly though in either case and people I cook with compliment me on it often.
