Rated 5 out of 5 by OldMomzie Great Comfort Shoe
I bought my husband a pair of these in both Black and Brown. He has an old pair that he now uses as a work shoe since they are pretty worn. Since they are his most comfortable shoe, I decided to replenish his supply while they were on sale. The shoes have a sturdy sole, they are very cushioned inside, and they have a nice wide toebox. If you are looking for a good comfort shoe that wears well, I cannot recommend these more highly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Timo722 Still a great shoe...
Been wearing Village Walkers about 12 yrs. now Both the high top and low tops, this latest pair were the low style. I have always ordered 9-1/2 med. They always fit, but not this time, width is good but length was short a half size. Propet probably changed suppliers, as all the shoe makers seem to do these days. I've had a couple pairs have the soles split in a fairly short time, while others have lasted for 4 to 6 years. I like this shoe and will continue with them, they are comfy and support well. J.C. Penny service was excellent with "ship to store", and subsequent exchange for larger size. Good shoe ,good service at J.C.P, Oh ! and best price too..

I have never heard of this brand, but when ai read the reviews, I tried them. They were right! The shoe is very comfortable, and nicely made. They were true to my size as well. A lot of other shoes I have tried recently require a larger size. I highly recommend trying these. Also, Pennys store pickup worked great for me!

These are amazingly comfortable ... while sitting it feels like I've taken them off! They are very lightweight, yet durable and very well assembled. The finish of the leather upper is very nicely shined and they shine up very easily with a quick polish. I strongly recommend these for those men who have the need for a very classy casual shoe, but require a wide width.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MissouriGuy Dye from shoes gets on white socks!
I thought I was going to love these shoes. Based on the reviews, I bought two pair. One pair in black and the other in brown. To my dismay, both pairs stained my brand new white socks with dye. The black left black dye all over my socks, while the brown left brown dye. I don't buy shoes that determine my sock color, but with these you would have to wear dark colored socks, unless you don't mind your brand new white socks being ruined with dye. I have never had this happen with any other shoes. Because of this issue, I have to rate these shoes with only one star. This manufacturer needs to figure out what they are doing wrong with the dyes. JC Penney was great in refunding me for the return.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bobmunch64 Been buying these for several years....
I started buying these shoes shortly after Clarks quit making and selling their long standing Natureveldt shoes (very similar). I had never heard of Propet until I ran across these shoes. I would still be buying the Clark's shoes as they were amazingly comfortable and durable. But I bought a pair of these in the same size, and they fit, almost same!! That was great for me as I have extra wide feet and not every other shoe company's "wide" or extra wide truly is.
However, there are some very real differences between these shoes and Clarks.
1) The soles do not hold up for anywhere near as long, altho they are still very good to excellent compared to most of what we are offered today.
2) There have been occasional stitching issues at points where the upper flexes and joins the sole. Again, only a few times, and not usually a major problem.
3) the insoles are great for about the first 2 weeks and then go down hill from there. They do not last nearly as long as the basic shoe and I would welcome Propet offering replacements at extra charge or to charge a bit more for a really long lasting insole. I hate having to replace these with Dr Scholl's or the like, but that seems to be the only recourse. The basic shoe can last a couple of years, but 2-3 months for the insoles is not good in my opinion.
