Rated 5 out of 5 by from A WONDERFUL SET OF KNIVES Chicago Cutlery is great!!!! Beautifully made knives. I bought another set before this one at another retailer and the handles broke off. These are strong and the blade steel goes through the handle. I love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect wedding gift Love the Chicago Cutlery my son bought me last year. I didn't think I needed new knives but once I started using them I realized how nice it is to have quality knives. Just bought this set for my granddaughter's wedding. I know she will love it for years!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap Starter Knives My father was a butcher for 30 years and used Chicago Cutlery brand knives at his meat market. These knives do not resemble the quality of those knives at all. These are only cheap quality starter knives. They are nicer than plastic handled serrated junk knives, but for Chicago Cutlery to say these are professional quality is insulting. They are extremely thin and light. The knife blades can be easily flexed with the tip of your finger. I doubt these will hold up well. The description says they are high carbon stainless steel but the box only says stainless steel, there is no mention these have carbon in them (carbon steel knives sharpen to a finer edge and are superior for cutting). These knives, like all Chicago Cutlery, are made in China. Despite the company still having an office in the Chicago area, and many of their lines being named after Chicago city streets, they are not made in the USA. As for the price. These knives are not worth the retail price of one hundred dollars. They are a fair buy at fifty dollars, anything more than that is too much, in my opinion. You would be better off buying the knives you want individually from a better brand for a higher quality set that will last a long time. Otherwise, these are only good as a cheap starter set of knives. If you're really into cooking or want to upgrade your kitchen, skip Chicago Cutlery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Knife Set This is my first Chicago Cutlery Knife Set and I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality and workmanship that went into making them. They fit nicely in the hand and have a nice heftiness to them. I would have preferred a serrated blade on the steak knives but the blades are super sharp and can cut through a nice thick piece of meat nice and cleanly. Cutting through fruits and vegetables is a breeze! Overall, this is an excellent knife set at an awesome price that I would definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value for a quality product Holds up well with repeated use and does not lose luster in dishwasher

Rated 2 out of 5 by from disappointed Steel blades look thin and breakable; use guide warns not to use to disjoint chicken. Not dishwasher safe although plastic handles and average quality steel should be. All implements arrived dull so unknown if they will even sharpen. Wood block not finished smooth on bottom but top and sides are finished fine. My main complaint is that these truths were not included in the on line info describing the product. Then then buyer could make a judgment about value for the price.
