I hesitated to try this unique pie pan but decided to splurge and bought TWO. After some experimentation I have come to love baking pies with them. However, you do have to follow certain rules when using the split pie option: It is important to choose recipes where both pie fillings (apple and cherry for example) bake for the same amount of time - otherwise you will end up with either an undercooked or burnt pie half! It works very well for making two different types of quiches too (I did a spinach in one half and a ham and cheese in the other). What I love about this pie pan is not just the the quality of it, but the fact that you have the option as well of making a 'normal' single filling pie if you don't want to use the divider. Keep in mind though that you are only using HALF a pie recipe when you use the split pie divider; the only way this can be dealt with is to have two of these pie pans, or, to save the other half of the fillings in the fridge until you can use them again. I'm glad I bought two because for the holidays I had one pie to cut and serve at the table and a second pie to keep for ourselves as leftovers #or you can always send one home with your in-laws#. Everyone absolutely loved the novelty of having two pies in one pan - it was such a hit! Would definitely recommend this pie pan to an adventurous baker!
