Rated 5 out of 5 by My favorite go-to knife. I actually received this knife as a part of a bridal registry. I hadn't used it much since I was given a huge block set of a different brand. Well let's just say within a month that brand wore out, and I found myself using this knife for everything. My favorite thing to do with it is mince garlic, chop up chocolate, or even slice cheese. There's really nothing this knife can't handle. One thing I didn't realize was that it isn't dishwasher safe. I've had this knife for about 3 years now with no problems after placing in the dishwasher. It works just as good as the day I first used it. Which is what I love about every Calphalon product I own. I wouldn't recommend using it in the dishwasher since it says it's not dishwasher safe. I'm just stating my personal experience. :) March 5, 2011

Rated 5 out of 5 by The Most Used Knife in My Kitchen I was so happy with this cutlery item that I bought several of them. A couple for me, and others for friends and family members. I use it for everything (meats, veggies, fruit, etc.) as the blade stays extremely sharp and nothing sticks to the blade (as a true Santoku should). I also have larger length models for bigger kitchen projects (melons, whole chickens, beef flanks, etc.). I would wholeheartedly recommend this knife to anyone. The size is perfect. Not too small, not too large, I can easily pare with the end as well. The grip is ergonomic and comfortable to the hand, even with extended session use. October 29, 2011

Rated 5 out of 5 by What Did I Do Without It? I've had an okay set of knives for the past forty years, and have been happy with them. I guess ignorance is bliss. I ordered this knife because it was offered at a good price, and I'd never used a Santoku before. Wow! Now it's my favorite knife. Well-balanced, extremely sharp, and the design makes it very user friendly. In fact, this purchase has inspired me to order a whole set of Contemporary knives. For those of us on a budget, these are extremely good quality. I will purchase more as time goes on, as gifts. March 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perhaps the Best Knife I Own I had been looking for knives to replace an old (cheap) set I had picked up when I started college. Never having even heard of a Santoku before, I was between this knife and another (chef's knife). The Santoku is fabulous, precisely cutting any and all foodstuffs. But the quality I like best about this knife is the way it is balanced- the handle on the blade makes slicing effortless. September 15, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 Not Stainless - The blade will rust! We got this knife as an incentive for registering for calphalon products for our wedding. I am fanatical about not leaving knife blades in water, but after using this knife only once, rust developed on the blade. Each time we use this knife, it gets a little more rust. I love calphalon products because they are so high quality, this one however is not! December 2, 2011
