Have the previous model for 5 years, 3 coffee batches per day and water side 6 times a day. Still works like brand new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MonicaBrew Excellent Machine with Hot Water Brew handy
We bought this about 8 months ago and love it. The hot water brewer is much faster then a standard kettle and besides tea the kids use it for porridge, instant noodle soups and I have used it for cooking. The two levels for heat for the element keep the coffee hot without that burnt flavour. Highly recommend this for anyone who is a large user of not water.

Rated 4 out of 5 by shloime borukh some good ideas, and saves counter space
the general idea of combining a drip coffee maker and a kettle is good. but in practice, some of the details get in the way.
- the electronic controls are a little confusing.
- water filling is awkward, because it needs extra height over the unit.
- having separate reservoirs for coffee and hot water is weird.
- the drain plug is an odd feature, not pictured in the manual and not obvious how to operate.
it can brew coffee well, with a little practice.

I do not recommend this product. We were very excited when we purchased the product due to the tea and coffee features in one! I love tea and my husband loves coffee, so we thought it was the perfect combination. I also was excited that the tea could boil up to 10 cups of water.
Sadly, I would NOT RECOMMEND this product after purchasing it and using it for 6 months. The water that comes out of the tea tastes horrible - we always use britta filtered water, and I even tried bottle water, but the water comes out smelling and tasting horrible. Even after cleaning it based on instructions that came with it, it still does not work well. We actually went out to purchase a kettle as we cannot stand the taste of the water and how it changes the taste of anything you add it to. Waste of money considering we had to purchase another kettle to substitute for this machine. Coffee machine works fine...but no different than less expensive versions. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

Bough a programable coffee maker with hot water dispenser and Thermos.
The thermos can NOT be closed totally so the hot coffee escape very quickly through the top and get cold. Have another machine with thermos on my boat and that brand stay hot for many hours. This is the third Cuisinart product and will be the LAST.
Total junk. Don't waist your money on any Cuisinart product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rosesncoffeeplease LOVE THIS ONE!!!
I love coffee and have had many coffeemakers over the years, this one is the best! Solid and well designed. Hot coffee or hot tea? Either or both. Water works for cooking too, need hot water? Push the button. Want instant oatmeal or other hot cereal for breakfast, push the button. Hot cocoa mix? You got it! Easy and makes GREAT coffee too. I have noticed the coffee to be smoother and more refined in taste. I LOVE the reusable filter, no paper, and no sludge or grounds in the pot. Will recommend and buy again and again. Best on the market in my opinion. Out-performs Bunn, Krupps, and Zojirushi. Penney's $40 cheaper than other big brand dept stores... same product, no coupon needed here. The program button works like a dream. Hot coffee when you wake up or while you get ready is often a necessity. You can program the hotplate to go off as soon as the brew cycle is over. Just set it to zero (00:00). I do not like the taste of over-warmed coffee and that function is a MUST for me. Looks great, easy to set programs, easy to use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by hoth2olover I love this machine but has a serious design flaw
DO NOT BUY! this is a fantastic machine and I loved it originally but it was a serious design flaw. I am now reading countless reviews as confirmation that it is not just a singular situation. Makes great coffee, very hot coffee and hot water dispenser concept is a dream for tea, oatmeal, noodle soups...and much safer for the kids than a kettle.
However, the water dispenser imparts a terrible flavor to the water. I have cleaned repeatedly with copious amounts of water, and vinegar solutions to no avail. The water does not sit in the dispenser for any length of time so it is not that it's stagnant. It must be possible to make this idea work though....consider a kettle that can sits for days and days without water being emptied with no ill effects???
I am quite disappointed but the taste is so strong that it is not possible to use.
Please fix Cuisinart...I love this model but it is unusable in it's current form.

Rated 1 out of 5 by dannec Great Idea that Doesn't Work
It's a beautiful unit with great features - but I have to chime in with those who say the hot water dispenser makes awful tasting tea. I even tried taking their charcoal filter OUT but that didn't help. I drink my tea with milk and sugar. Usually after boiling water and steeping for 10 minutes, even after putting in milk, it is still piping hot. One cup of tea with this unit was tepid - so I thought maybe I left it sitting too long. Future cups I tried steeping less or hardly at all and those were hotter but still tasted terrible - not much tea taste and rather stale. I can only surmise that the water doesn't fully boil and therefore doesn't release tea-taste goodness from the leaves; I really don't know. Returned this unit in a hurry because I drink upwards of 6 cups of tea a day.
