Rated 3 out of 5 by from 10 speeds, but they feel pretty much the same I am somewhat disappointed with the speeds of this mixer. The pace and intensity of each of the 10 speeds seems almost the same, or pretty darned close! With 10 speeds, I would expect the speeds to be gradual, starting off a slow #1 and ending up with a very fast #10. Speed #1 sounds and feels about the same as speed #5. The motor is rather loud, and is extremely uncomfortable for my spouse because of his hearing aids. He can't be in the kitchen when I'm using the mixer. The motor does seem powerful, and mixes doughs and batters very nicely. The design is attractive, but the increase and decrease buttons are poorly placed. The increase button gets unintentionally activated because of it's position on the handle. I can be mixing on speed 1, and all of a sudden the mixer is on a much higher speed. I got the mixer on sale, and ONLY because of that I consider it a good value. I would not pay the original price for this mixer because of the lack of slower speeds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful hand mixer Bought this mixer, so I could give my younger sister my older Black and Decker that had served me well for years because her mixer quit. However, this new mixer is way too powerful for what I use it for. Out of ten speeds, I only needed to use the first one to mix up my mashed potatoes, which is what I primarily use a hand mixer for, along with an occasional cake mix. I realize this review is limited because I probably will never use the higher speeds, but it is what it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Hand Mixer I bought this mixer last year for myself and have been so pleased with mine that I bought one for my daughter and family and one for my son and daughter-in-law for Christmas presents. I prefer it to my kitchen aid mixer. Great product!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a good value for the price I thought a 10 speed mixer would have a low starting speed, but this does not. It throws the ingredients all over. The difference between the 10 speeds is nominal. I returned the mixer.
