Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meets all my expectations I ordered the Cook's digital crockpot/ slow cooker in red, online, from my local store. The shade of red is true, neither orangish nor bluish, and has an effect of deep sparkles. I followed the instructions about pre-washing and pre-heating water. Then I used the cooker to make a chicken dish with potatoes and carrots, cooking on "low" for five hours, then automatically moving to the "warm" setting. The chicken was tender, and the vegetables were cooked through, yet retained their shape, with no mushiness. It will hold the food on "warm for up to four hours after cooking on high or low. My granddaughter used it to take a large batch of chili to work and keep it warm for a potluck dinner. Both of us were impressed with the secure closure, which has a tight-fitting silicone gasket around the lid, and two stretchable silicone anchors on the handles that hook over metal loops on the ends of the lid. It's easy to wash the lid and ceramic pot, and to wipe the cooker clean. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Slow Cooker I purchased the Cooks slow cooker during the Thanksgiving Day sale - an unbelievable deal! I already own a slow cooker, but liked the features and design of this one and could have used a second one for Thanksgiving day. So far I have cooked a venison stew, barbecue boneless pork ribs, reheated a rotisserie chicken (that turned out so moist) and made bone broth from the turkey bones - all have cooked up beautifully. I especially like that it automatically changes to 'warm' for 4 hours after the cooking time has completed. Nice feature! The only reason I gave features a 'good' rating was it would have been nice to have a delay timer for setting it to start after I've left the house in the morning. However, I really believe all the features it offers are excellent. I don't typically travel with my slow cooker, but like the added latch option should I ever want/need to. I am thrilled to own this slow cooker and definitely would and have recommended it to my family and friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Christmas present to myself! I am so excited to use this slow cooker for my next family gathering! I work and go to school so the programmable feature is going to be a life saver for when I'm not home to make dinner! Buying online and picking up in the store has been so convenient too. I was worried about Christmas thieves, this way I didn't have packages sitting outside my door all day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great features I love it. Used it once so far & I love that when the cooking time is done it automatically goes to keep warm. The one issue I have is I have arthritis in my hands & I had a difficult time stretching the straps to seal the lid. Other then that I'm very pleased with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the locking lid and the automatic shut/off timer This crockpot is amazing. It has all the features of the very expensive models, but with affordablity. I bought one of these for myself, and later bought another for a Christmas gift!

do you have to latch the lid if just cooking at home or is that just for transporting?

Asked by: Ragingredd535
No, just for transport, but if my younger grandchildren are here, then I do indeed keep it latched.

Why does it have a hole in the lid? Is there a probe available to fit this?
Asked by: LinnaB
The lid fits pretty snugly. If there wasn't a hole in the lid, the steam couldn't escape. The hole is not for a probe.

Is this a Count Down Cooker? Can you plan meals down to the minute between 30 minutes to 20 hours in advance?

Asked by: PzGramee
Yes you can program the cooker to count down from 20 hours to 30 min. There's a high temp that cooks twist as fast as the low temp. After time is up it sets to warm.

Is there a way to program this Cooker to operate on HIGH for the first couple of hours and then shift to LOW to finish cooking?

I read the user manual quite thoroughly and didn't see any mention of this kind of High to Low programming, which seems like it would be simple enough to include in the design of the product. My old "manual" crockpot from the 1970s has this function, which I use alot.
Asked by: Kaymo
This particular crock pot does not have the feature you were hoping for.
