Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meets all my expectations I ordered the Cook's digital crockpot/ slow cooker in red, online, from my local store. The shade of red is true, neither orangish nor bluish, and has an effect of deep sparkles. I followed the instructions about pre-washing and pre-heating water. Then I used the cooker to make a chicken dish with potatoes and carrots, cooking on "low" for five hours, then automatically moving to the "warm" setting. The chicken was tender, and the vegetables were cooked through, yet retained their shape, with no mushiness. It will hold the food on "warm for up to four hours after cooking on high or low. My granddaughter used it to take a large batch of chili to work and keep it warm for a potluck dinner. Both of us were impressed with the secure closure, which has a tight-fitting silicone gasket around the lid, and two stretchable silicone anchors on the handles that hook over metal loops on the ends of the lid. It's easy to wash the lid and ceramic pot, and to wipe the cooker clean. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Slow Cooker I purchased the Cooks slow cooker during the Thanksgiving Day sale - an unbelievable deal! I already own a slow cooker, but liked the features and design of this one and could have used a second one for Thanksgiving day. So far I have cooked a venison stew, barbecue boneless pork ribs, reheated a rotisserie chicken (that turned out so moist) and made bone broth from the turkey bones - all have cooked up beautifully. I especially like that it automatically changes to 'warm' for 4 hours after the cooking time has completed. Nice feature! The only reason I gave features a 'good' rating was it would have been nice to have a delay timer for setting it to start after I've left the house in the morning. However, I really believe all the features it offers are excellent. I don't typically travel with my slow cooker, but like the added latch option should I ever want/need to. I am thrilled to own this slow cooker and definitely would and have recommended it to my family and friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crockpot I've only used this once as I only purchased it a few weeks ago.....but I love it! My previous crockpot was smaller and I love this size as I can make a big batch of stew, soup, etc. I used it last week for chili con carne and it cooked it perfectly! I have accumulated many crock pot recipes and look forward to using it.....especially during cold months!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like the Digita Display and that it goes to warm for a couple hours after it's done. Like the crock pot, only used it once so far. The one feature I was not impressed by were he rubber bands that keep the lid tight. I found it difficult to put around the hooks. And even more difficult to remove after it was done and the top was hot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this slow cooker The automatic features make using this a breeze, no more remembering to reduce the heat when needed, just set it and go about your business until dinner is served. Also, the locking handles make transporting worry free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow!!! What a crockpot!!! I never expected it to be this nice!! I LOVE this crock pot! I got it in the copper and it is beautiful! It is so great to take to a potluck church dinner ...no more "soup" on the car carpet! It keeps it hot much longer also! I love it and will be buying it as a gift for my children!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great features very much like the color choices and features of this slow cooker. And the 5qt size is PERFECT!

Answer:
No. Not that I can see. It can operate at low for up to 20 hours. It has a digital count down timer. You can turn it on in the morning and leave for the day and you don't have to worry about it burning. You just set it for the time you want and it will count down the time and turn off when it reaches the set time. When the cooking time is done then it will automatically keep your food warm for 4 hours. I hope this info helps.

That hole is there to let out enough steam so that the food won't splash all over you when you lift the lid,

Answer:
It is a vent hole to alleviate pressure caused by steam. We do not recommend placing a probe into the hole.

Answer:
You just latch it for transport so nothing spills. You don't have to latch it if it is stable on a table or just cooking on a counter. Hope this helps!

Answer:
I would say yes. Because I set the timer on this crock and wasn't going to be home I went ahead and latched the lid while cooking. I feel it does nothing but help to ensure everything goes as expected.

I read the user manual quite thoroughly and didn't see any mention of this kind of High to Low programming, which seems like it would be simple enough to include in the design of the product. My old "manual" crockpot from the 1970s has this function, which I use alot.

I think you have to do it yourself in the middle of cooking, like 3 hours later I just manually shifted it to low. No big deal for me, though

Answer:
It can operate at low for up to 20 hours but you can't program it to operate at high for a certain number of hours and then switch to low for a couple of hours. If you set it on high it will stay on high but when it is done cooking it will switch to warm. Same thing if you put it on low. After it is done cooking it will switch to warm for four hours. I hope this answers your question.
