Rated 5 out of 5 by My Favorite New Kitchen Gadget The Crock-Pot Casserole Slow Cooker is, hands down, the best kitchen tool I have ever purchased. I have already used it about ten times, and I just got it in March. This thing slow cooks casseroles and more, keeps food warm, and is very easy to pack up and tote. Also, the oven-to-Crock-Pot feature of the stoneware dish is fantastic! I fell in love with the stainless version that seems to only be available at Penney's, and it is a beautiful match to the classic stainless Crock-Pot I already owned. On Easter, every gal in my family wanted to steal my casserole cooker, so I am about to order a few as gifts. Highly recommend! April 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing addition to the collection Great addition especially for traveling. Made ziti, green bean casserole also other chicken recipes. Wish they'd make a bigger recipe book especially for it. September 14, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Crock-Pot casserole Crock slow cooker This Crock-Pot casserole Crock slow cooker is a wonderful addition to my busy schedule. For the first time I am able to use a slow cooker without everything falling apart and blending together. For our first meal I made chicken and rice and my family thought I cooked it in the oven. The meat was very tender and I was able to plate each individual chicken breast without it falling apart. The stoneware dish and the locking lid are very easy to clean and a bonus when used to transport to a pot luck event. I found the product very well made. My only complaint and the reason I gave it only four stars was it is missing a timer where it would switch to warm after the recommended cooking time. I work an eight hour day and many of the recipes are for 3-4 hours. I have bought a light timer to get around this problem but I feel that this product should have a timer and warm setting built into the temp controls. This product was given to me free to review and I would recommend it for busy families! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] February 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this!! Perfect size and shape! As soon as this arrived, I made a lasagna! Cooked perfectly! Can't wait to use it again! August 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by The BEST slow cooker!!! I can't talk about this Crock Pot more!! I absolutely love it! I have made lasagna, pot roast, homemade Mac &Cheese, hash brown casserole, chicken pot pie and spaghetti so far and each dish turned out delicious. The programmable feature is great! I don't have to worry if I get home later than expected because dinner isn't still cooking it's switched to warm after the initial temperature setting and hours to cook. The fact this has an attractive ceramic dish with a locking lid is another plus because you can cook and serve the dish in one dish or easily take to a party. The crock pot in general has a very nice appearance. I would recommend this crock pot to everyone. I promise you that you will never want another slow cooker besides this programmable crock pot. I have a new love for slow cooking!! If you've never used a crockpot this should be the one to start and you will never need to try another!! Thank you for allowing me to sample this product!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 by Attractive and Functional This crockpot is very pretty. Things cook much faster since it is shallower and has more surface area. LOVE IT. August 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great features I purchased this one about July 4, have used it 3-4 times, have it going right now. Love it. The size is just right and couldn't ask for any more than this. July 28, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good unit with some room for improvement I really liked the crock-pot casserole crock slow cooker. The size was perfect for my family of three. Often, my larger crock pot is too big and this was just right. And,I very much like the feature of being able to easily transport the whole unit to use elsewhere. I have three suggested areas of improvement, however. One of the main purposes of a crock-pot is to be able to put ingredients in early in the day and come home to a hot meal later. I find it surprising, then, that this unit was built without a timer. Second, the recipe book included is very limited. If, for whatever reason, you don't use cream based soups, there is nothing of use in that recipe book. And, third, while I understand the shape of the crock is to hold a casserole, it is disappointing that the show cooker disposable bags on the market do not fit. But, all in all, the unit worked great and I'm glad to have it in my kitchen. Answer:
We do not recommend going directly from the refrigerator to the slow cooker. As with any fine ceramic, the stoneware and lid will not withstand sudden temperature changes. Do not wash the stoneware or lid with cold water when they are hot. It is best to not put the stoneware in a pre-heated oven. Put the stoneware in a cold oven and then turn oven on.

Answer:
Yes, you most certainly can, however, you will need to adjust the cooking time to take into account that the contents inside the pot and pot itself are cooler. A crock pot heats up slowly and will obviously take longer to heat a cold vessel and contents in it than it starting out at room temperature. We recommend using an instant read thermometer when starting out with a chilled pot and food to ensure food temperatures reach above 165°F. Also, avoid "pre-heating" the crock pot base when starting with a cool pan.
