Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ugh! This coffee maker is terrible! We shouldn't have to work this hard to get a good cup of coffee, and I'm a barista! First of all, there is no grind adjustment, so since it doesn't grind the beans fine enough, the coffee is weak in our opinion. So we tried using more beans, but that just overflows the basket. So we've been using finer ground coffee and not using the grinder at all. But still, if you put too much coffee into the basket (like 12 scoops for a full pot), it overflows and you have grinds all over. (in the coffee, on the outside of the coffee pot, all over the counter) Also, if you miss a little bit while pouring the water in, it goes straight through the coffee maker and all over the counter.! Its just poor design, I'm wishing I would have kept my receipt, but I thought since it was a Cuisinart, there was no way I would need to!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ever!1 Not sure why people are complaining about this coffee maker. I owned a Mr. Coffee before this one and that machine spilled coffee all over my counter. The Cuisinart was worth every penny! We've owned this for over a year now and love it as much today as we did the day we bought it. We bought the thermal version and it keeps our coffee hot all day long. Makes great coffee. It's a bit of a pain to clean, but my husband and I are picky about our coffee so if it means having a machine that works right the clean up in worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coffee pot This is a replacement for a Cuisinart Grind and Brew that finally wore out. It is a more compact machine and much easier to clean with a 12 cup capacity. It also goes with the rest of the kitchen with the stainless steel and black look. It's much easier to clean that the previous coffee maker we had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with my purchase Overall, I am happy with the purchase. I like freshly ground coffee and this machine is convenient in that one is able to grind the coffee and make a fresh cup of coffee. Also, it allows you to make a small pot 1-4 with the press of a button which is really great. The only drawback is that the grinder is part of the machine tha also holds the coffee beans for storage. Sometimes this gets a little tricky, especially when you're just getting use to the machine and how it works.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible design! I hate this product, ugh. It is so poorly designed. First, in ordered to fill it with water, you have to pull it out and turnit around sideways b/c that's where the water meter is. Next, you end up having to clean out so many parts in order make the next pot of coffee. All the moisture collects on and in the grinder, so instead of just leaning out the basket, you got like 5 parts to clean. Moreover, the karafe is methal not glass, so it only keeps the coffee warm for about 45 mins. I also don't think it makes that great a cup of coffee. The grinder has no settings for adjust so the coffee is always weaker than I like. And finally, the way you set the timer is not particulary intuitive. I've got to pull out the manual each time I want to change the time or there is a power outage. I expect much more from Cuisinart.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New gray finish that is easier to keep clean. I bought a grind & brew over 5 years ago w/thermal caraff. It was still working when I ordered this new model. This one is much quieter, easier to clean (inside and out) and I love the taste of my coffee wirh fresh beans. It is all I expected and more from my new machine. carolyn MT

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent buy This product replaced my seven year old Cuisinart grind and brew. This one works perfectly, the grinder is actually quieter than my first one. It keeps the coffee very hot for an enjoyable second cup long after it's done brewing. Am very pleased with the entire purchase experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I purchased 4 of these! I love this item & bought four of them in both styles. They make great gifts for anyone that drinks coffee. I have two in my home, one upstairs and one downstairs in the master suite. I love it! The only downside is you have to clean the grinding area or it clogs. Also one of mine makes strange ghostly moaning noises when it is brewing, it's quite funny actually!

Answer:
No, The Cuisinart Grind 'n' Brew has a blade grinder. There are coffeemakers with burr grinders available on the market, but they are generally several hundred to thousands of dollars.
