Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I splurged on this coffeemaker as a gift to myself. Found it to be very, very messy, putsy with lots of pieces, and sloooow brewing. You have to clean and thoroughly dry the 2 grinding pieces after each use in order make more coffee so the coffee doesn't get gummed up in the grinder/feeder and then you end up with weak coffee. The inner parts of the machine get messy with beans that grind and don't make it to the brewing basket. Somehow, coffee runs down, between the basket and the warming plate, and it gets gummed up/crusty all around the warming plate. Sometimes hardly any coffee will end up in the carafe, only to find that it has leaked all over the counter, underneath the coffee maker. WHAT A MESS. It takes FOREVER to even brew one cup of coffee (3-4 cup mark on carafe) - - I'm talking 10-15 minutes. I thought this 2-in-1 machine was going to save me time and mess of grinding separately and brewing. Sadly, it did not. I'll probably go back to a $35 machine for my next purchase. How sad is that?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Waste Your Money We got this coffee pot about two - three months ago. It makes great tasting coffee, but that's if the drawer doesn't pop open. When that happens, we wake up to a huge mess on our counter and tile floor!! That's not the way we like to wake up every morning! We contacted Cuisinart because we sent in our warranty card as soon as we purchased the coffee maker. They said they would be happy to replace it, if we paid for the shipping of the new maker and the old one back to them. You may want to save yourself some time and stress with this one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my Grind 'n' Brew I've had my Cuisinart Grind 'n' Brew ever since they first came on the market. Actually this is my second one. After a couple of years I had a problem with my first one; I called Cuisinart and they sent me another one right away. They asked me to return the old one, but to keep the carafe and lid. They even paid for the return of the old machine. As another reviewer said, the grinding process is somewhat loud. But grinding beans in a separate grinder would be just as loud and not as convenient. A small price to pay for freshly ground coffee! The most inconvenient aspect is the number of parts to be cleaned each time. Besides the carafe, primarily what needs to actually be cleaned with soap and water each time is the grinder and lid, and all of the parts that need to be cleaned can be put in the top rack of the dishwasher. The carafe is fine in the bottom. It's also important to clean the area where the grinder sits. If this isn't done, the inevitable coffee residue can get syrupy and sticky and make clean-up more difficult, as well as cause the grinder to stick and be difficult to remove to clean (live and learn). The gold coffee filter is cute, but paper filters are a lot easier! It's good to give the warming tray a good wipe down. To keep your coffee at its best, be sure to change the filter about once a month! Enough said about cleaning. As far as I'm concerned, it's all worth the effort to have fresh, great-tasting coffee every morning! A last thought: We are fortunate to have a coffee roasting company nearby in our community, so we call ahead with our order, a blend we dicovered that we particularly like. When we arrive our order is warm from the roasting ovens and sealed in airtight bags. You can't beat freshly roasted, freshly ground coffee!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Leaking bottom I absolutely love this coffee maker with the programed timer so its ready in the mornings. Coffee is easy to make and smells great when you wake up. I noticed slowness after about 6-7 months but it you run vinegar and hot water through a couple of times if cleans everything nicely and good for another 6-7 months. I would think with any coffee maker you would have to do this. The only thing I could say was after 3-4 years it started having a leak at the bottom of the coffee maker. It wasn't alot of water but does leak on the counter a bit and its annoying. Now I feel i hate to order another and not sure I would choose the same cause I love it.

I had purchased a cheaper brand in the past/with the same functions. And after 2 months it was leaking all over the cabinet. The smell of fresh ground coffee in the morning is just wonderful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best of the best Just ordered this for the second time. My first one died about two weeks ago - at age 2...but it was the best two years of coffee brewing. I even took it on vacation to Florida with us! Hopefully this one lasts a little longer than two years. I really don't mind the "extra" cleanup time that others complain about - it may take me an additional minute while doing dishes.
