I just purchased this blanket recently, and so have only washed and dried it, not used it yet. Mine is white and turned out beautifully. On handling and folding, I have felt confident that it will wear fine. It did shrink maybe three or four inches out of 80-plus (for a full-size bed) and this is actually what I'd HOPED. In fact, it's one reason I chose this product, thanks to a previous reviewer, as the shrinkage keeps the blanket from showing out from under a full-size comforter. I followed the tag-laundering directions exactly. (For my wash, I used Nellie's washing soda, a widely sold detergent, and Calgon water softener--not fabric softener-- to prevent minerals in the water from depositing on the fabric and graying it. (I have no connection to either product and am not advertising them.) I put the the blanket in the drier with wool drier balls, instead of fabric softener or sheets, since fabric softeners have left my laundry dingy in the past. I pulled the blanket from the drier a little before completely dry and left it on a rack on a sunny, breezy porch for a couple of days, just because I could, to add some old-timey outdoor freshness and because sun, over time, also maintains whiteness.
