We have been using our Dyson for several months now and have been very happy with it. We've gone over our "clean" floors with our Dyson and found that it picked up A LOT of dirt and debris that our old vacuum left behind. It's light, easy to use and works well. We especially like how easy it is to empty. We've kept an eye on the filter and haven't had to clean it yet.
The only down sides I would say is that the wheels on the brush head have begun to squeak loudly. It doesn't seem to affect the performance of the vacuum, but it is pretty irritating. I can't see us doing any kind of warranty repair just for the squeaking, hoping it will stop. Also, using the hose wand is a challenge. When you pull it out and start using it, it basically pulls the vacuum over and retracts like a spring that doesn't want to straighten out. I find myself fighting with it more than using it. I can't see an easy solution to this one because it can't really loosen up or it won't go back into the vacuum. It's just a design thing that I think could be improved upon.
Overall, we love our vacuum and wouldn't trade it for the others we've tried in the past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by chrystov Love it, but...
Dyson Ball is light and powerful. Enjoyable to use. Though, the use of the wand is awkward. Once you "get it" it's fine. But my grandmother was asking about it and needs a new vacuum, but I wouldn't recommend it to her because, while the engineering is slick, it is not obviously simple enough for some people like grandma.
I also like that the brush head is made of clear plastic. This lets you see the hair and long fiber build up that needs to be removed. And disassembly is not hard. However, with all the genius problem solving going on at Dyson, it seems like this issue of attacking the brush head with scissors would have been addressed. I imagine a simple sliding blade (like the sliding cutter on boxes of wrapping) could be used to move across the length of the brush to make hair/fiber removal simpler. I realize keeping it sharp would be an issue, unless it were replaceable. Just some thoughts. There are a few ways to tackle this issue. Maybe you've done it in another product.

I've had this vacuum for a while now and not a single problem and it does an awesome job. The only thing I could possibly complain about was that my old canister would lie flat to get under beds, my oven and coffee table but it didn't pick up nearly as much dust and dirt as this vacuum. I was just telling a guy I work with about this vacuum the other day and that he really should consider one when buying his next vacuum, if this one ever quits I'll buy another in a minute.

yes, my expectations were high, and after I saw what came out of my "vacuumed" rugs, I was blown away. Dyson, you make clamming easy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Strong suction you really can see
I used my Dyson for the first time today and stared at the dirt and dust it captured from the first bedroom I vacuumed in disbelief! Can't believe all that was in a room I thought was clean, very happy with my purchase so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by awypych Very Good!!!
I have been using this vacuum for over 4 years, and I have to admitted that is amazing!!! It picks up a lot of dirt even from small spaces. I had other brands and they can't compare to this one.
Previously I owned Dyson - the older version and it was a little heavy, but this one is great.
The only thing I don't like is that the cord is way shorter.
Otherwise very good purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by dmazz DC65 Review
I owned a DC07 for nearly 10 years and had begun to exhibit some issues. I traded in the DC07 for a DC65. Suction on the DC65 is significantly improved over the old DC07. This machine is much lighter and overall easier to navigate than the DC07(see comment below regarding hardwood floors). I have also found that I can get the DC65 all of the way underneath kitchen cabinets, without having to open the cabinet doors. The machine is very easy to move on carpet while vacuuming.
The reason for 4 stars (vs 5) is due to some of minor issues.
1) Rear wheels do not seem to stay locked in position when moving machine around the house (room to room for instance). Any bump seems to cause the rear wheels to unlock and the machine falls into the vacuum position.
2) This one seems to be a long time Dyson design issue. It is impossible to use the 'wand/hose' without completely. removing/unwrapping the power cord.
3) Navigating/turning on hardwood floors is a bit more difficult than with the DC07.
