Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great performance I purchased this machine after having purchased a cordless Dyson. I love the performance and ease of use as does my housekeeper. I replaced my old Dirt bag machine we called special K or Big K. My initial hesitation is the plastic feels plastic. This concerns me in the long run that replacing pieces that break here and there will not be cost effective. But in the mean time the performance and ease of use is fantastic. I had one extremely minor issue and Dyson gives you guidelines to not mention customer service in these reviews. And that is too bad. I had a second to none customer service experience that has left any concerns I had about my purchase in the dust. Thank you for giving me the respect I am finding so rare in the customer service world. It seems so many corporations are adopting the Wally World retailer substandard customer service model these days, and Dyson is not one of them in my experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What an amazing vacuum! It arrived today! We are a family that includes three yellow labs - lots of hair and dirt from them let alone the human portion. First - the ease that it went together. Second - the motor noise was significantly quieter. What you did hear lead you to imagine that was the noise of dirt being sucked up. Third - the suction was incredible and it remained constant despite moving from carpet, to wood floors to tile. Fourth - the dirt in the canister was unbelievable especially since I had just used our Dyson DC65 which I had absolutely loved on those same surfaces. I couldn't believe how much more this Cinetic machine was able to extract from our rugs and carpets. Fifth - Maneuverability was great - the bigger ball caused no problems getting around. Sixth - The technology is amazing in this new model especially not having to deal with maintaining and cleaning filters anymore. Dyson is an incredible company who keeps improving on their technology for our benefit. Thank you Dyson!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After 13 years of grandchildren and three huge hairy dogs, my Dyson Animal finally started getting tired. Truthfully, it really didn't lose that much suction; the roller head was just getting worn out. I thought about just replacing the roller, but decided, after 13 years, I would go ahead and get a new vacuum cleaner. While I loved my Dyson, I did research other brands. I decided to stick with Dyson because of how good the first one was, how long it lasted and the consumer reviews. I've had my new Dyson animal for 3 days now, and can I just say...WOW! At first, I was a little disappointed because the head was a little smaller that my old one, but I love it. I can get under tables and into spaces I couldn't with the old one, the suction is amazing and I absolutely love the swivel head. The animal hair and dander this bad boy picked up was unbelievable. If you have animals and are considering a new vacuum cleaner, I strongly recommend the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal...you won't be disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It really is better! Honestly, I couldn't imagine how Cinetic Big Ball could be any better/different than my DC65 Complete. But, IT IS!! I have area rugs on top of wall to wall carpeting and the suction on the DC65 can make is a workout using pushing the vacuum across the rugs. With the Cinetic it is a breeze and it is picking up just as much the DC65. I really like that the Cinetic releases all of the really fine dust from the cyclones, I used to have to tap the cyclones when emptying the bin to get these particles released. I was a bit concerned that the air watts is lower slightly lower on the Cinetic then the DC65 but, I do not see any difference in cleaning. I do notice it is easier to push, see above, and I can use the hose with attachments without having to "fight" machine to let me extend the hose. Also, no more reminders to clean/wash the filters because there are no filters to wash!!! Woohoo!! I love all of my Dyson products, all 6 (and counting) of them! I've not hesitated recommending Dyson vacuums to family and friends.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from granted, it's only been a day.... ....but what surprises me isn't how much fur it got out of the carpet (my last vacuum stopped impressing me weeks ago and I actually expected more). What really surprised me is how much actual dirt came up. I don't have children running back and forth outside, I don't have dogs.... There's really now excuse for how much grossness was there, just out of view. HOWEVER, I already see the thing that's always bothered me with every vacuum and what I really hoped something that claimed to be designed for homes with animals would avoid: The roller bar is covered in hair. I personally have long hair and I have four cats. It would be great if we'd all conveniently shed on beds, the sofa, places that that silly non-tangle turbine tool might be useful, but we don't. Like most reasonable creatures, we shed on the fly. ALSO emptying the bin is a bit of a challenge. Still, the dirt... seeing that dirt inspires me to overlook what I consider to be otherwise graphic flaws. Unless or until they come out with a new roller bar that doesn't trap hair, this vacuum is four stars at best and I'm honestly tempted towards 3 (how do you have a vacuum designed for homes with pets and NOT have a roller bar with at least SOME tweaks...?)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Dyson yet! This baby is powerful. I was skeptical at first. I previously owned the dc25 animal ball and if you compare the two it appears that the dc25 would have more suction capabilities, but that is not the case this machine is much more powerful and better constructed! The new technology works different than than the old and because there are no filters there is no suction loss to account for. I use both machines and the cinetic out proforms the dc25 in every way! The front head is also designed better and does not catch as much hair in the beater bar. It has a firmer suction to the carpet than the dc25... bottom line if you are comparing any of the other machines to this one do not hesitate buy the cinetic big ball you won't be sorry!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Only a few things I don't like This is my third Dyson Upright. I upgraded from a 41 Animal and there are many features that make me happy I made the change. It is noticeably quieter. The small animal brush head works much better with the spinning brushes, it does not stall out when working on upholstery crevices. The floor brush assembly is easier to take apart and clean. I like to disassemble the unit, wash the dust bin and clean the hair out of the brushes after 5-6 uses. The things I don't like are minimal but annoying. The space in the dust bin between the bin walls and the cyclone unit in the center is smaller and there are support fins at the bottom sidewalls of the bin, all this combines to make it harder for the dust and hair to empty out. I used to be able to open the trap door at the bottom and everything would drop out with a tap. Now I have to reach my hand up into the dust ball and pull it out. Also, after I pull the wand and hose out of the handle I have a very hard time getting it resettled into the red handle, I think the fins that hold the hose and wand are tighter so I have to fuss with it 4-5 times to get it settled into the handle again so I can go back to upright vacuuming. No critical faults just annoying. Overall I like the new model very much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Suction! We purchased our Dyson a couple weeks ago (my first Dyson), and I couldn't be happier. It has fantastic suction. We even gave it "the test" by vacuuming our sun room, which seems to always be covered with dog hair and has thus turned into more of a mud room because we could never get the black carpet free of dog hair. This vacuum sucked up EVERYTHING! I love it. We've tried at least two different vacuums in this room before this, and it always looked like we never actually did anything when we were done. This is the first to grab everything. I find myself vacuuming more often than needed just because I like just how well it actually works. Very easy to empty. I am not disappointed at all. Great buy!
