Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT ROD I purchased this rod to go with my Royal Velvet back tab curtains and it worked perfectly. I had JCP in home service install the rod and they were amazing to work with. Highly Recommend February 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very nice rod I ordered this curtain rod in gunmetal. It compliments the gray curtains I hung on it very nicely. February 13, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Curtain rods They arrived on time, were easy to put up and seem to be sturdy enough for the medium weight drapes. Brushed nickel color matches light fixture . March 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by the 1" gives a luxurious look over the thin ones It's definitely better to go with the 1" rod than the thin ones. it looks so much better and is also stronger and doesn't bend over the weight of the curtains over time. it comes with screws and it is really easy to hang. August 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Lightweight, Easy to Install Bought the curtain rods in gunmetal. Extremely light weight and super easy to install. Unsure if true metal or a plastic. That would be my only complaint, although do not look "cheap." April 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Curtain Rods I am very pleased with my purchase. I ordered them on line, so I wasn't sure of the quality. They look great and were easy to put up April 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by nice rod These rods are sturdy & substantial. They are a great compliment to the Presidio Grommet-Top Sheer Panel that I bought to go with them. They grommet rings of the curtains match the rod perfectly & they look like they were made for each other. Easy to hang as these things go. April 6, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor quality One of my rods had a faulty end so the finial that screws to it and keeps the end secured could not be attached. :( It wasn't particularly hard to assemble but easy to flip the brackets the wrong way. March 23, 2016

I'm considering this to add drapes to a sliding door however I want to be able to pull all drapes to one side. Having a middle bracket makes this impossible.

Answer:
It comes with a middle bracket, but I didn't use it. They are lightweight and depending on how heavy your curtains are, it should be okay

Answer:
I felt the same way - wanted to be able to move my drapes all the way across the window, so my husband was able to line the extender with small "splints" which keeps it sturdy. We've had our drapes hanging for over 3 weeks and there is no bowing!

Answer:
We have the 86-120 rod and the "extender" is in the middle so there will be bowing if you don't use the middle bracket.

Answer:
Yes, you need the middle bracket. Perhaps the sheerest of curtains could get away without the center support but I wouldn't recommend it.

Answer:
If your drapes have any weight to them at all, you'll need a center bracket. If you're hanging extremely light weight curtains or sheers, you'll be okay without it.

Answer:
Finials can be removed as there are threads at the end of the rods where they screw in. Easy!

I want to have cotton/poly grommeted drapes to bunch without much volume when not in use, but pull across when we want a bit of privacy over a 101 width sliding glass doorway. I need to put up a rod and then buy curtains. How much width of curtain should I buy and will a one inch rod work well?

Yes it's perfect - you could even go larger with no problem. We have the 1" and there is more than enough space for easy opening/closing.

Answer:
I've used that sized for grommet curtains and have had no issue opening and closing them. They also look very nice. You wouldn't want to go smaller - it doesn't look nice.

It's a little less than 2" -- I had the same problem with tight space which is why I went with this rod. Hope this helps.

Answer:
You could make it about 4" longer and this is how you do it: buy the 48-86 rod and the 120 rod. The 86" rod is about 4" longer than the 120 rod. The extender on the 120 rod is in the middle, the extender on the 86 rod is at the end, so the 86" rod itself is 4" longer. I am sure of this because I bought both rods - the 86 was not long enough so I purchased the 120 rod. We added the 86 rod to the 120 rod (it was too long) - BUT it would have worked fine. We have an odd sized window and it's difficult to fit. You will definitely need the middle bracket to hold the rod in the middle or your rod will bow.
Hope this helps!
