Rated 5 out of 5 by Lovely curtains I bought one panel to cover my bathroom window (62.5" wide to cover a 50" wide window, and it is a perfect fit). I just push it to one side when I want it open. I previously had a semi-shear which I really liked as far as style but it was impractical because it did not give enough privacy at night. These curtains are very high quality in construction, fabric, and style. I love the back tabs and pleats. I added the wand from my semi-shears to keep them clean. Now i just pull it across (glides so nicely thanks to back tabs), and the curtain is automatically adjusted for fullness because of the sewn-in pleats. The previous curtains had back tabs but no pleats, so I always had to adjust in the fullness. This is such a nicer look than just a rod pocket curtain. And now I have lots of privacy! Rated 5 out of 5 by Happy with Drapery Purchase Ready made pinch pleat drapes are hard to find. Happy with the drapes. Definitely NOT the quality of past JC Penney pinch pleat drapes I purchased 20 years ago. Other vendors offer pinch pleat drapes that cost 4 times the price. Buy the better quality drapery hooks with sharp points not the ones with blunt ends when hanging the drapes. I also purchased heavy duty curtain rods. (different vendor) I didn't iron before hanging (hate ironing). I did consider having them professionally blocked, but I will do that later. Very happy with the results. Picture is just after hanging. The wrinkles from packaging mostly came out after hanging for two weeks. are they perfect? No. Satisfied with the results? YES. November 27, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Quality not worthy of Penneys Name Bought these to replace JCPenney drapes purchased 15 years go. These are NOT of the same quality at all!! I am so incredibly disappointed in Penneys - I've ordered from the catalog, and now online, for over 30 years and have never been this disgusted. The pleated portion at the top is so 'papery' it actually crunches when bent. When I try to open the drapes, they bunch up horribly at the top, and although they meet in the center, I have to pull the two sections closed in the middle - as if they're not sewn on the fabric's grain? They ARE hanging a bit better than last night (when I left my first review which was mysteriously denied, I just found out). I attached two photos. I guess I'll start saving for custom drapes that I'll order elsewhere. Sorry, Penneys. You've let me down big time. Buyer beware - you get what you pay for. August 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love my Royal Velvet pinch pleated drapes. They will provide warmth in the winter and keep the bedroom cool in the summer. I love the elegant appearance the pinch pleated drapes gave to my bedroom! September 2, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Met my expectations In better times I've purchased custom drapes and there's definitely a reason they're more expensive than the ready made ones. That being said, now that I'm on a tighter budget I had to find lined drapes that would filter out at least a good portion of the sun, and not break the bank. These fit the bill. I bought them on a 1/2 price sale and in a size that two panels would cover a very large living room set of windows. Finding drapes made for hooks is getting harder and harder. These drapes were made for either hooks or a rod going inside of the top of them. Installation was relatively easy and once I had the traverse rod installed, hanging them alone wasn't hard at all. Once they were up like all drapes that had some creases from where they were folded. We have a steamer and within minutes I had all of the major creases out. We watch a lot of TV in the living room and while not what I would call "blackout drapes" they do a reasonably good job of cutting down the light at mid-day. They are light weight, again a function of their reasonable price. If your circumstances are similar to mine I would recommend these drapes. I got them in dark brown, and they are indeed very dark brown. January 31, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by This product does not have same quality as jcp home. Purchased pair of "jcp home Supreme" drapes two years ago for the living room, just recently painted the room and hung the drapes. However they were not wide enough, and the closest match were these Royal Velvet drapes. The fabric is the same, but the quality of the product does not compare. These you can see the stitching on the sides and the hem, they are not blind-stitched and the pleats and hem are not as stiff. December 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love my new drapes! Love my new drapes. I ordered twelve cream panels for my living room and dining room. The color is terrific and the quality is excellent. These drapes are lined and weighted!!! I could not be happier. October 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product at a terrific price! I wanted a more elegant look but didn't want to have custom curtains made. When I saw these I knew these would work and then I couldn't decide which color I wanted, the green or cream. I had them hanging next to each other, trying to decide, when I realized "heck, why not combine them?!" I did and they look great! They totally brighten up our room! Everyone that sees them can't believe I got them at such a terrific price! I'm planning on changing out the curtains in our other bedroom next! August 29, 2015

No, you order two panels or more depending on window size. I used 2 panels at a large size for my daughters room and smaller panels for a smaller window, just 2. Awesome drapes, JCPenney always has awesome drapes of great quality!

There are tabs on the back of the pleats so they can be hung on a decorative rod. However, I bought the point-style hooks to hang them on a traverse rod, and they work great.

Answer:
You need the hooks that have a sharp point to them. They are easy to insert into the pleat. There is a place at bottom of pleat where you can insert the hook. Took a few tries but I finally figured out what to do.

Answer:
You don't need any hooks or clips. The "back-tab" refers to a loop on the back side of each "pleat" and all you have to do is push a round drapery rod(I'm using 5/8"") through each one and hang up the rod. Easy!! PS you could put a drapery pin through each pleat(on back side) and hang that way on rod with cords for opening /closing but really they hang gracefully using the "loop" and slide very easily on round rod when you manually pull to close or push to open. And these round rods are no doubt cheaper.

Answer:
37.5 is the finished width of one panel. Usually customer gets two. That is the top of panel. You need to measure the width of the window plus how much on each side the rod will go plus how far out the rod will project to determine what width you will need. The number of pleats in a panel depends on the beginning width of the fabric and how deep the pleats are. Most decorator fabric is 54 inches wide. From that side hems and pleats reduce it down to 37.5 inches.Hope this helps. I have made several curtains in my lifetime.

Answer:
The width of the panel is measured at the top; i.e., the measurement is the pleated width. The 25" panel has 5 pleats; I am guessing the 37" panel has 7 pleats. the pleats are 4-1/4 - 4-1/2 inches apart; the end piece of the header is 3-1/2 inches on each side.

Answer:
I bought the ivory color. They are not room darkening. The lining is thin. I'm using blackout fabric with these curtains because we live in the northwest where the sun comes up at 4:30 in the summer. Perhaps your darker color will block more light, but the drapery fabric is on the thinner side (imo) so I'm unsure as to how much light would actually get blocked. Great thing about Penney's is that you can return them, so best of luck with your choice.

I also ordered the walnut color drapes. I would consider them room darkening drapes. When they are closed you can not see outside or do you see the lights of passing cars. The other positive thing is that if you are outside you do not see any lights shining through (I have 2 - 100 watt lamps in my living room plus multiple lights in other rooms).

They are room darkening, and it doesn't appear as though the color matters, we bought two different colors to match our sheets, and they both darken the same. They don't make it a complete black out, however it does get pretty dark. Enough to sleep during the day anyway.

Answer:
Yes, they DO darken the room quite a bit if you have them completely closed. I ordered mine twice the size of the double window, and that helps with the darkening effect. I got the soft gold, but I think walnut wood be about the same as far as how much light gets in.

I'm going to use these on my patio slider door (75" wide x 95" long). Is the length measured from the top of the curtain or from where the pinch pleats are, I'm not sure what size to purchase.

Answer:
Since you plan to use on a patio door , I would measure from the top of the curtain. You do not want these to drag the floor since they are going to be used in a passage way. If they were on a window it would not matter if they laid on the floor.

Answer:
I think you mean 75" high and 95" wide? The height is from the bottom all the way to the top. If you use a regular traverse rod and have the top of the pleat about 1/4" to 1/2" above the top of the rod, then an 84" panel will have the rod around 8 3/4" above your door, which would work. Depending upon your ceiling height, you might want one even longer. You didn't say.

The width of the panel is the width at the top. The bottom is about 1.5 times wider, so the fullness is already sewn in. I found that buying two panels with each equal to half my width plus 4 or 5 inches overlap at the middle and 3 or 4 inches return at the end worked. This means that, when closed, the top of the panel is gently tight against the rod and the drape hangs below with nice sewn-in folds. Mine were plenty full when hung this way and didn't overwhelm the traverse rod when gathered for opening.

You need to add in the extra width at the sides for gathering the drape. I don't know what you want there, but as an example, if you wanted an extra 15" on each side to gather the drape, then your full width is 95+15+15=125". Half of that is 62 1/2". Add 4" for the return and 4" for the overlap and you have 70.5" for each side. That's a really good match to their 75" wide panel. So, you could get two 75" wide panels, *if* 15" to 20" is enough to gather on the sides. Just adjust your rod width to match. That would mean using a total rod length of about 134 inches. I'd make that a little shorter to give yourself some playing room. Maybe 132"? Lay it all out and make sure it works before you hang it, then you'll know.

The 84" long panel will fit over your door if it is 75" high but if your ceiling is higher or if you like having the rod higher, you can go with the 95". In an 8 foot ceiling, the 95" would put the curtain pretty much up against the ceiling. Hope this helps. I struggled figuring out what size to get because the information online from Penneys is confusing for this curtain. They never say that the fullness is already sewn in, which is the critical thing to know.

See my review of this about changing the direct of the pleats to get these to gather on a normal rod.

By the way if you plan to hang the curtain *below* the rod, e.g., from clips, then all my vertical numbers here are wrong and you'll have to recompute them. Double check everything here before you proceed. It could be wrong and is only meant to illustrate how the measurements worked on the curtains I received from Penney's
