Rated 1 out of 5 by from Quality is not up to JCPenney’s Standard of Excellence There are so many Mixed reviews. We are not happy with the quality of this mattress pad. The top of the mattress pad and sides are made of mixed fiber that has the feel of paper . I don’t think the mattress pad would make it through the first wash. Online detail description reads cotton and a five year warranty. The package we received gives you a 2 year warranty. Regardless of the sale price, I cannot recommend this product to consumers. I am returning our purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WRONG ITEM DESCRIPTION Unfortunately I will be sending this mattress pad back. The item description on the website says "Cotton/polyester top and sides. Polyester back", which is not correct. The actual tag inside the pad says "top and back 100% polyester, skirt 100% nylon". I wanted a cotton blend pad which is why I chose this one. I knew it was not a cotton blend as soon as I took it out of the package, because the fabric had that plastic-y feel, not at all like there was any cotton in it. So I immediately checked the tag, and sure enough, it said "100% polyester". So this is going back. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed This is a no frills, reasonably priced mattress cover, which is all I wanted. I literally wanted something to simply cover my mattress, to have something between the mattress and sheets, and this was the perfect product. I was also pleased with how much it stretched around the mattress. It is a great fit on a deeper mattress. It's not very "cushiony" so if you want something that is more of a pillow top or with more fluff, this isn't the product for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it said it would. Great cover that truly does expand to cover mattress and foam on top. Best of all it is made in America.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from overall a good product my experience was mostly positive, had some trouble pulling the edges over the mattress. it was somewhat stiff and difficult for my hands. i am a senior citizen and my hands don't work as well as they should,

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The mattress pad's expand a grip is fine. But I thought there would be cotton on the top of the pad instead of composite paper type material. To spend that much money and not get cotton fabric on the pad was very disappointing. I will use it and it fits good. I ordered on line so didn't get to see it first.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Deep Pockets This is an economy mattress cover... It does the job but it will not last. I had one previously and it lasted less than a year. I also bought a isotonic mattress topper when I bought this and I'm hoping the two together will last a couple of years till I'm ready to replace the mattress set in our room. I really like the deep fitted pockets on this mattress cover. It fit well over the topper and the mattress... the elastic webbing is tight and it stays in place... For the price its reasonable. My plan is when I replace the mattress to replace both topper and cover.... I've gotten spoilt... funny what we think we can't live without... cest la vie

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed in this mattress cover Expand-a-Grip was my favorite style of mattress cover for years and years. They were made from top quality percale with very good elastic throughout the sides, and held up through numerous washings & vigorous sleep sessions.. This kingsize shipped to me was quite a letdown. The fabric on top was a cheap scratchy muslin. The elastic in the stretchy sides was barely sewn into place. I think after laundering, it would not have fit my mattress due to shrinkage. I cannot recommend anything about this product which I returned to the store.

Answer:
I don't know if it's waterproof, but I do know that it is 100% polyester, unlike the "cotton/polyester blend" it was supposed to be according to the website.
