Rated 3 out of 5 by Foodie Bag has to be just right
My husband and I buy food in bulk, so we thought this would be a good way to keep food fresher and not freezer burnt. We like that it's a vacuum sealer & marinator, however the only flaw that we see, is that the bag has to be just right or else it doesn't work. We plan on keeping it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Owlett5 Looks great, hard to seal
I was given this as a gift from my boyfriend. The first thing I used it on was some leftover raw hamburger. We all know how prone to freezer burn ground beef can be!
I used the wet setting with the provided bags. It had a bit of difficulty forming a seal. It did suck out most the air but the seal was patchy and needed to be resealed about 5 times before I could see it had formed a seal all the way across the bag.
I personally don't mind having to press the seal button like 4 times, but it should seal the first time!

Rated 3 out of 5 by MoodyMe Does not always seal
I have to agree with those who say that the V3460 does not always fully seal the bags. I had an old VAC550 unit that was smaller, less expensive, and did a much better job than this one. I love the idea of vacuum sealing my food - it really does help prolong shelf life, and preserve frozen foods. But, in the future, I will do a lot more research before I buy another unit so that I know that I will get my money's worth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bblank Just what I was looking for.
I ordered this product to replace a 15 year old foodsaver that was used many times over the years for freezing meats, fish vegetables, nuts, and others items. So far the V3460 has met my expectations and is easy to use. I am happy with the quality of the product and feel the price was comparable to other retailers. I look forward to seeing if it last all of the years my older food saver did.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Barb money saver on food
I love it, have been using it to freeze extra food I make for a second meal in the freezer. It is kind of loud when it is sucking the air out though.. I am a widow and have a hard time cooking for one so it saves my food for future meals. And I can buy the full size packages of meats at a lower price and divide it up for the freezer. would recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by kat1959 Great Features
I use this to help my family save money on groceries. I can buy in bulk and separate it into meal size portions and freeze...It also works great for individual meals...Keeps food fresher longer in the freezer without air in the bags...LOVE IT>. I know it will be a wonderful asset when our garden comes in...

Rated 2 out of 5 by shellyf Doesn't fully vacuum!
I have lost so much food using this! Even on dry food regular settings (as opposed to wet/gentle) it does NOT fully remove the air and seals automatically. Sealing air IN. I have tried over and over cutting new bags (wasting bag material!) to push as much air out as possible before putting it in the machine, but it still fails to remove the small amount of remaining air. Food spoils, rots, molds and freezer burns. HUGE waste of money!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by kay8 annoyed
i run a small business in which our product needs to be air sealed, so i bought this model and have rated the value at "average". the machine itself works great, it seals quick and isn't too noise also takes up little space. the part where i get very very annoyed is this.. the bags/rolls are very expensive!... and this machine seals the bag an inch and a quarter 1 1/4", from where the bag is cut/precut!!! thats almost 3" of wasted bag per product?!?!?! i hate loosing 1 foot of roll every time i seal 4 of my 7inch items! I'm so aggravated if i had known this earlier i would have looked at other brands that don't rob you of money with their bags and rolls.
would i recommend?.. yes, to someone who uses it for small things and doesn't care about wasted bag/roll they paid good money for.
