Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed! Purchased items in early 09/2016. I should have read the reviews prior to spending so much for these towels in early September 2016. I follow the instructions for washing, etc and no inappropriate skin care products come in contact with the rags and towels. By the 2nd washing, every wash rag has 30+ errant strands (0.5 inch or longer) hanging from the rag. Each time, I trim the 30+ strands from BOTH SIDES of each rag, only to have new errant strands to trim after each washing! At this pace, I'll have no material on my washrags in order to wash with after only 6+ months of light use!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Soft, spotted towels... I bought 12 sets of these towels. 6 sets were the deep purple color and the others were a neutral color (dark beige). The towels are very plush and absorb moisture very well. Here's what happened after the first wash using Tide liquid without bleach. On the dark beige towels - The towels changed color slightly and have large spots like they've been bleached. The spots are almost a greenish color or hue. On the purple towels - No bleach spots but I have several different shades of purple. On both both colors, I had to clean the drum of my washing machine from all the bits and pieces of towel fabric. After drying, the lint in the lint screen was very thick, but being new towels, I sort've expected this. I literally had to trim away the unraveling on some of the sides of the towels. I was so very excited to get new towels. I love, love the way they feel. I just don't know that I would order again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thick, soft towels Very soft, thick towels at a great price. I have gray, plum, and black; the gray and plum have not shed at all, while the black has shed somewhat. All have shed less than I typically see from new towels, and all were initially more absorbent than I usually find new towels to be. Regarding another reviewer's problem with pink spots which looked like the towel had encountered bleach, we had the same problem with several sets of towels and managed to trace them back to an unexpected source--our toothpaste! We were using a whitening toothpaste, and whatever was used as a whitener bleached the towels and left pinkish spots. So many toothpastes have whiteners now that this could happen if you wipe your toothbrush on your towel or your face after brushing. Once we figured it out and changed a few habits, we saw no more pink spots. Just FYI because we initially thought it was a quality problem with the towels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good quality as I read some of the reviews I see negative comments, but my towels are made well, good quality towels, I have washed them 3 + times and they still look good, and best of all my cost was low, I am well pleased with my purchase, thank you JCPennys for such a good sale

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely disapointed that these would be discontinued and without notice - I never finished buying up all I wanted/needed. Now what do I do as everyone knows you cannot match purples.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quality Iam not sure why I read so many bad reviews and I am shocked to see s the ripped ,bleached looking towels because thats not what the towels I bought look like, I bought several of the bath towels , hand towels and wash clothes for my husbands bath room and he loves them. They are very thick, soft and very strong, they have not faded, bled, ripped or frayed after many washings. They still look new, I also went back a few months later and bought my self a few for my bathroom. I love them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Control These towels are soft and fluffy, but that is where the good news stops. After using one pair for two weeks, it is starting to unravel. One pair was unraveling out of the box. Definitely do not buy these on-line. I exchanged one pair in the store because I did not like the color. I noticed that some of them in the store were unraveling. So shop in the store only and carefully go over each piece. These towels are not cut looms, but are looped which are not considered as good. Because the quality varies so much on towels at Penny's these are the last towels I am buying from them. They are very frail, with threads coming out throughout the towels.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horribly cheap I paid a substantial amount of money for these towels, compared to other retail locations- I received them in the mail, and was ASTOUNDED at their poor quality. I remember when JC Penney used to sell quality items made in the US... guess I'm getting old.... There were loose threads EVERYWHERE on these towels, not only on the seams but in the Terry cloth itself, the seams are uneven without one wash or dry to them, and they just look Cheap. I'm very disappointed with the quality of these towels :( or, I should say : lack of quality in these towels.... The washcloths and hand towels had that weird, thin cardboard 'tag' in them, that's impossible to remove without ripping the towel seam... Very uncool, JCPenney....

How can I stop the lint from getting on my skin after I shower?

I purchased these towels about 2 months ago. When using the towel after my shower, I am covered in lint all over my body. It has been necessary to go back in the shower to wash the lint off.

Wash them twice before use and do not mix red with gray (etc) ... colors do run for the first few washing of intense colors such as red. Do not wash with clothing, only with other linens to prevent snags in the towels cotton lops.

What is the percentage of egyptian cotton contained in the towel, is it 100%?

Asked by: Andiee
I don't see anything on the listing that indicates the % Egyptian cotton but the tag says 100% cotton then on the next line it says Egyptian cotton loops. Hope that helps answer your question.

Asked by: joha
My bath sheet weighs 752 gms and is 80 cm by 150 cm so I think that works out to 626 gsm. This weight is after at least 6 washes.

Egyptian Cotton versus Signature Soft Royal Velvet Towels

I read the reviews for both types of towels, and although I liked the thicker look of the Egyptian cotton, was worried about the loops, threads, etc., that reviewers were mentioning, so purchased the Signature Soft. They are very nice, but wondering if anyone has purchased both and compared them?
Asked by: kagail
I find the towels to be very soft and absorbent. Also the color holds true. I anticipate buying more and various colors.
