Eco-friendly tip: This towel is made with long-lasting quality in mind. Give it a second life when you're through with it by donating it to a local charity instead of discarding in the trash.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor Quality Tub Mat This review is solely about the tub mat which we received with a set of Royal Velvet towels from our wedding registry. The tub mat looked good when it arrived but it was a completely different story after it came out of the very first wash with only the towels, before first use. It didn't really survive the first wash and came out looking used and degraded, with a frayed edge. This is very disappointing. See attached photos. The towels themselves were almost great except for all the linty, fuzzy bits affixed to each towel. Hopefully this will go away over time and still have an actual towel leftover. They are quite absorbent and lighter than other towels we have at home. Despite the lint, the quality is pretty good. August 15, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointment!!! Will be returning all towels purchased. Some towel edging fell apart on first washing. There is also random strings protruding on most of the towels. I have no confidence that these will last through multiple washing. I am so disappointed. I expected more. I guess I have to look elsewhere for quality towels. August 21, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by extremely disappointed I purchased these towels thinking they were the quality that I've experienced in the past. I bought 5 sets of gray towels. Bath towels and washcloths have lasted fine. However, the hand towels have completely frayed at the bands. Both sides. They are rags now in only 1 year of use. Extremely disappointed in the poor quality. September 9, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Falls Apart I bought these towels mid 2014. Within 6 months, the hem unraveled on a hand towel. Over the span of 1 1/2 years nearly every towel and wash cloth has one or both hems gone. Worse towels ever. I will NEVER buy them again. March 7, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Extremely Disappointed I'm extremely disappointed with Royal Velvet Egyptian Cotton towels! All of the eight towels had faded splotches on them after the first wash. They were washed with plain Tide and water NO BLEACH! These towels have been returned! I've attached a picture. December 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Color Choices, Coordinates Well,Soft When I decided to replace some of my towels I thought I go with Royal Velvet again for my bath sheets..My old ones had held up greatly so a no brainer... Of course JCP has a vast choice of colors available in this towels,so I knew I could find something I wanted. This time I ordered bath sheets in the Brown Clay color it's close to like a terracotta and is a perfect match with the Kassatex Chateau in TerraCotta..The size is awesome,,I like to have a few bath sheets available in my collection...lol These towels get softer and fluffier with more use.. If all stays the same or improves I will continue to buy these.. August 5, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Extremely Disappointed!! I bought four sets of these towels when moving into a new apartment. During the first wash, the towels fluffed up and became very soft, but the color began to fade. Since then, the problem has only gotten worse. The attached picture shows what the towels looked like after two weeks of use and two washes. I was very disappointed, and would not recommend to anyone! September 7, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Super soft I bought antique linen colored bath towels (29" x 53") and hand towels (14.5" 26.5"). The color is light brown, not a beige color as I expected looking at the color online. Still a nice color that will fit with my bathroom colors. After washing the towels, I noticed the towels had snags. Despite not the color I expected and the large amounts of short snags in the towels, I still think the towels are a good value at the sale price based on generous size, incredible softness, and great absorbency. Answer:
I don't see anything on the listing that indicates the % Egyptian cotton but the tag says 100% cotton then on the next line it says Egyptian cotton loops. Hope that helps answer your question.

Answer:
My bath sheet weighs 752 gms and is 80 cm by 150 cm so I think that works out to 626 gsm. This weight is after at least 6 washes.

I purchased these towels about 2 months ago. When using the towel after my shower, I am covered in lint all over my body. It has been necessary to go back in the shower to wash the lint off.

Answer:
I have never had a lint issue with my towels but maybe after you wash them a half dozen times or so they will quit having lint. I know for my towels, I didn't think they absorbed water very well at first, but now that they have been washed between 6 and 12 times they are as absorbent or more so than my other towels. I hope they start working for you. They are such pretty towels.

Answer:
From my experience, all the Egyptian Cotton towels I've tried were very linty at first. I usually wash the towels twice before my first use because the lint not only gets on one's body but it flies all over the bathroom, etc. The good news is that they do "settle down" after washings and use. In the meantime, you can use a dry hand towel of micro fibers or polyester to shish over yourself after you are dried off.

Answer:
I did not have this problem, but I lightly washed them first in cool water with Dreft and the first use was perfect and fluffy. They are soft, absorbent, and so thick for my needs & the colors as you well know are beautiful. I hope this helps, b/c they are such a great towel for my Bisque and Tan Motif. I hope this helps you, as I'm sure it will. Enjoy!! This should solve the problem & if you don't want to lightly wash them, put them in your dryer with air-dry setting, and a cling-free sheet and the lint will be gone from the manufacturer.

I read the reviews for both types of towels, and although I liked the thicker look of the Egyptian cotton, was worried about the loops, threads, etc., that reviewers were mentioning, so purchased the Signature Soft. They are very nice, but wondering if anyone has purchased both and compared them?

Answer:
I do have the Royal Velvet towels and love them. I tried to get another set from JCPenney. I cannot find the same set in terms of short tight loops. I have looksed and felt all of the current available towels and cannot find the ones I purchased 4+ years ago which were of a high quality.
