I couldn't have found a better protector for my brand new high-end K S&F dble-pillowtop mattress. I purchased them both 10 years ago next month and this protector has been on it from the day it was delivered. Every time I wash it I am amazed that my mattress is still as flawless as the day I bought it. Now that is a true investment. I am greatful to JCP for having such a quality item that long ago and continues to make it available today. My daughter was so impressed she purchased one for her Q S&F last week. My spouse and I move constantly while we sleep and to this day it makes no noise. It also washes beautifully over and over again with no color distortion or lingering odors. No cracks or tears in the laminate backing at all and the elastic is holding strong. The stitching loosened about 2 years ago in one spot about 1 1/2" wide so I tied the threads together at each end and halted the gap. I'm sure I can easily sew it when I can find time. I hope everyone has the same lasting results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by llab80128 So far, so good!
We have had this on our bed now for about 10 days. Our old waterproof mattress pad had seen better days, and it was time for replacement simply because of the stains from normal usage for 12+ years.
We needed a mattress pad to accommodate a new talalay latex mattress topper that we added to our mattress earlier this year. One of the reasons I was drawn to this specific mattress pad as it accommodated the increase in size.
I read some comments that the side panels are rather thin, and yes that's true. Perhaps if we washed the pad every week that may be a problem, but honestly we only wash ours about every three months unless something comes up. It was ample in size - MUCH better than our previous pad - and was easy to install on the mattress.
The pad itself is super quiet and is more comfortable than our old one. Perhaps its simply because it fits better? There hasn't been anything to 'test' the waterproofness of this pad, but I'm sure that it will do the job for what we need it for.
Thus far, I would completely recommend this product for it's quality, quietness and price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Michele85 Quiet, waterproof and durable
This is the best waterproof mattress pad I have every owned. We have had one for 6 years and the other for 2 years. They have been well "tested" by my children and have always been waterproof. I have been very pleased with how well they wash and dry. I rotate it in the dryer to make sure all areas are exposed, and it dries quickly. It has generous corner pockets for the mattress and it fits well and is easy to put on. Since it is a laminate waterproof layer it is very quiet and feels like a normal mattress pad. This is the number one reason I purchased this mattress pad.
** I have noticed a couple other reviewers have mentioned that the vinyl is noisy, however, I think they have put their review under the wrong mattress pad. This mattress pad does not have a vinyl layer. **
I would highly recommend this mattress pad for children and adults.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MommyofMorgan Quality is terrible!
I needed a waterproof mattress pad cover for our daughter's bed. This is terrible quality! It is crinkly and just cheaply made.I bought one from JCPenney's several years ago and it was much better quality. I've noticed lately--items that use to be quality material are no longer. Guess it is all about quantity and no quality. Sad! I do not recommend this and did return it.

I am very satisfied with this product. The quality is excellent and the price (on sale) is a fair price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by joleopard Quality control much?
This is my second purchase of a twin XL cotton top mattress pad from jcp. They are waterproof, and the cotton top does provide a smooth and comfortable, non-crinkle surface on the bed. I was so pleased with the quality and performance of the first pad, when the person I care for became incontinent at night on a regular basis I ordered this second mattress pad, same exact one, so that I could handle an overnight bed change if needed. What a disappointment! While this pad has the same attributes of the first, it is not cut to the same dimensions. We have to lift and bend the hospital bed mattress to get this pad on the bed, and then slowly straighten and stretch out the elasticized skirting to make it fit. The first one I ordered fits well and is easy to change. I did not anticipate this one to be any different. A small margin of variation can be expected, but this is ridiculous! I'd like to have one more, to rotate, because we are changing the bedding at least once a day now, but I'm twice-shy about ordering another from jcp. I noticed that the twin and twin XL are now listed as "one size". Well, they are not - especially when the elastic is too short to stretch the extra few inches without bowing the mattress. :(

Rated 3 out of 5 by BlueGoose24 Hot Mattress Pad
I ordered this pad for our new King size Serta Mattress. Because the mattress was so expensive, I wanted to protect it well; thus the reason for ordering a waterproof pad. The quality and workmanship on this pad is excellent It fits the bed perfectly. The pad is well filled and is very "fluffy". The pad is not noisy despite the waterproof backing. My one complaint is....the pad causes me to sweat. I get very hot lying on plastic sheeting, even though the sheeting is very well padded. I have had to remove the pad from my bed for this reason. I am very disappointed that I cannot recommend this mattress pad to others. If you have a tendency to sweat after lying on a plastic-backed sheet, this mattress pad is not for you, despite all of its other positive features.

Rated 3 out of 5 by CarefulShopper Hard to put on mattress, sides flimsy
The picture on web site does not accurately show the sides of the mattress pad. The sides are a heavily gathered porous paper-like material. The mattress pad is a tight fit so you have to pull on it to stretch it out over the mattress, then try to fit it down over the corners. The heavy gathering on the sides causes the corners keep popping off when you try to put on the mattress pad and if you pull the sides too hard, they will tear because they are so paper-like. Of all the mattress pads I have ever had, this is the most difficult to put on my Queen size 12 inch mattress.
