Answer:
Yes these are cotton twill fabric drapes. Yes cotton does breathe. If you suffer from mildew behind your drapes, you have moisture accumulating on your window. You need to see how you can fix that problem. Drapes will not help that.

Answer:
Yes, they do breathe. However in the space you describe, I think you willl need to allow for some open space between the panels so air can circulate. I have single pane windows, so moisture collects on the inside when its cold outside. In the morning I just make sure there is room for circulation between the panels, windows, and the room.

The curtains are 100% cotton and besides cotton being soft and comfortable. It’s best property is its ability to ‘breathe’

Answer:
The rod opening in these drapes is 3-4 inches. So consider that before you order these drapes. I use a I inch rod but remember, you can use up to a three inch rod with no problem.

Answer:
I used a continental rod. The curtains fit when the rod is put both either through the rod pocket or through the back tabs.

Answer:
I am using a 1 ½" diameter rod, and there is plenty of room to slide the panels back and forth if you use the full rod pocket. I think a 3" rod would work, but the panels wouldn't slide easily. I tried using the tab-backs but the weight of the 64" curtains tends to skew how they rest on, and fall from, the rod.

Are they really 40" wide when stretched out? So I can use one curtain on a 3-foot wide window, and it will cover it? Thank you.

Answer:
For a flat panel, yes get one. For fullness and attractiveness, get two panels. Believe me you'll love the look and the quality of these drapes. Get the ones with the sewn in lining. Make sure you ask for them, you won't be disappointed.

I'm interested in the white panels but need something that's 99-100% blackout. Are these blackout or just darkening?

Answer:
They are lined drapes. One lining is sewn in and it filters the light, the other is applied to the material and it filters about the same amount of light. Neither lining is blackout.

Answer:
I have the ivory curtains, and they don't block light. They do block the sun so it's not blinding you, but the room is fully light.
