Rated 5 out of 5 by from clean sweep! These may be touted as ceiling mount rods but they look great as wall mount, too. I purchased them to replace regular curtain rods: the flat, U-shaped, metal type that uses drapery pins. Installation was tricky because I was connecting three 80-plus inch rods and going around a corner. The rods needed to be level yet the ceiling is lower at one end of the room. A laser level made the task easier (but what D.I.Y. person doesn't love a challenge?). The posts are well engineered and adaptable; they have three places for screws rather than two so their final position can be fine tuned. Once installed, the rods looked so sleek and streamlined that I did not need to nor want to put the valences back up to hide the hardware. By the way, the Tuscan Bronze finish is a wonderful, neutral mid-tone and the rods are amazingly sturdy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to my living room! These were very easy to assemble, and exceptionally easy to install! These are designed very well so that you can mount the base first, then screw on the outer parts to hang the curtains. Made the installation go very smoothly and I was very impressed. These aren't going to be your High-End rod sets, but they definitely do the job and look great. I mounted them from my ceiling, and I have 4 windows in my living room. They look modern and I've received a lot of compliments. I ordered the black color, and it is a rich finish. The only thing I would say is be aware of the size - I wish I would have ordered a thicker rod set just because my curtains are 108" in length so the proportions are a bit off, but that is my only comment for the "cons". Otherwise, a great product at a fantastic price point to update your home and give it a modern feel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy! I put one of these at the head of my daughter's bed to get a canopy effect w/o the canopy. Super easy to install (and I managed to hit a rafter above, so I know this isn't coming down by accident). I hung simple white curtains from it and it's such an added elegance for a really economical price! And to change look, it's as simple as change up a pair of curtains!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install and durable I hung very heavy lined drapes from these and I wanted them closer to the wall than a wall-mount rod would allow. We initially thought of cobbling together pipe and eye-screws but when we found these - and on sale - we bought! They were just what we needed and hold the heavy drapes well. Instructions told us NOT to use center bracket but we did and we haven't been struck by lightning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT DEAL!! I just received my curtain rods yesterday. I am covering my unfinished laundry room walls with 96 inch ivory curtains and finding these rods have saved me a lot of money$!! I ordered the black and found true to the other reviews that they are more than easy to install. What customers had not mentioned is that you get two end brackets and one for the middle for more stability if you choose. I installed mine for extra protection. I found the rods to be very well made and a nice finish. I liked them so much that I ordered another to create a curtain door between my laundry room and utility space. I am also thinking about ordering some for my liviing room windows to give a feel of more height. They give a modern and unique look to the room that will compliment my new Samsung front loaders (also ordered from JCP) very well. Thanks JCP!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Scratches easily These can be mounted vertically or horizontally. The advantage of the vertical mount is that you can space them the exact distance you want from the wall. The disadvantage is that the ceiling height plus curtain height needs to be carefully measured to ensure the overall height is correct. There is only a couple of inches vertical play in the mounts. Also, if you can't screw the mounts into wood then the ceiling drywall may not hold if you are hanging heavy curtains. I ordered bronze and they had some scratches when I got them. The rods seem to scratch easily but it is not noticeable unless you get close and look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from sturdy! this is a good sturdy rod that i mounted to the ceiling b/c i have awkward bulkheads in the living room. i could give a couple of pointers to the designer to make it a tiny bit more convenient to secure, but over all, i bought a second rod b/c i was pleased with the first one.

I'm ordering the 86-120% rod. Does it come with 3 brackets or 2?

Asked by: Lisa
It comes with three. Two for the end and one for the middle if you choose to use it. Once you install both ends you will know if you want to use it depending on the weight of your curtains.

Can the 120" rod be connected to the shortest size rod to add more length?

Or do you sell a connector to do such a thing? I need to cover about 14 feet with curtains, the 120" is only 10 feet. Thank you.
Asked by: Meggan
The 120" rod is actually two larger sections with a thinner section in the middle to get to that length. You can add to that length by connecting the same way... thin section to thick section and so on. Just be sure to use the mounts to give you the strength you need to not have your curtains sag from the weight.

Can the rods be shortened by cutting them? I need to make a couple of shorter rods and then connect them with the corner pieces.

Asked by: AHappyShopper
Yes... it can be cut with a hack saw or a pipe cutter.. but since it is a light weight metal material, you will need to work to flare the end to open it up enough for the end piece to fit. This is not hard to do... just make sure you take your time and don't make the opening too large. Also... use tape on the section that you want to cut to protect the finish while cutting.

What is the shortest length of the bracket from the ceiling? I see that it is adjustable, but I need the shortest length it can be adjusted to.

Asked by: AHappyShopper
3 1/2 inches from the ceiling to the top of the rod
