by pesos Very soft and nice detail
After reading many reviews, decided to purchase this rug and see how it goes. Was happy with the detail and the plushness of the material. It is wool, and expected to have some initial shedding. Did proper vacuuming, and it has been fine. I do not see the heavy shedding people are noting. I wonder if some folks are "beating" them to death with the vacuum? Of course, raise the bar on your vacuum head to clean and should be fine. In fairness, do not have little children (all grown up) or pets running around the house. We have it placed in our reading room (den) and looks very nice on the wood floors. It has a soft cotton backing, but, I always recommend using a pad underneath to protect rug and floors. I would have rated quality a 5 stars, but, some of the inside border was a little off, (it is hand made), but we still liked it enough to keep it. Purchased on sale which makes it a good value for this type of rug. I added a picture to show it looks in the room.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TigerCat Good Purchase With Some Qualification
This rug is a good buy for the money. It was described as shedding loose fibers. I did not know that this meant that the rug would lose actual loops of thread. I have had the rug for about three weeks now, it is vacuumed daily, and the shedding has not decreased. People with cats or dogs should keep animals off the rug because their claws pull loops ("sheds") out of the rug very easily. I have two other rugs of this same size and construction and also all wool. The prices of these rugs were about twice the price of the rug I am reviewing. My other rugs do not shed or loose loops. In fact, it is difficult to even pull a loop out of the rugs; whereas, loops from the rug discussed here lose loops extremely easily. Again, however, I think this rug is a good buy for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CaujanLuvshoper I have ordered many things from JCPenney's and this Fleur deLis Hand carved Wool Rug is great.
I am French and I love the Fleur de Lis rug. It matches my antiques in my living room. I received the rug by UPS and it surprised me as how fast we received it. The color is beautiful and I also bought another rug that was larger than the first on I ordered. The price was in my budget and shopping online was easy to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by nenna2205 Love the plush rug!!!!
I love these wool rugs, they are soo thick and rich looking. I have bought probley more than 20 like this one off of the JCP catalog and will not buy any that are not wool ever again. I love how durable they are and they last for years and years. I have read a lot of comments regarding massive shedding, yes the rugs shed, but they are 100% wool, and that should be expected. Just like angora sweaters, or products that are thick with fur, it sheds, it doesnt made it poor quality, but my opinion better, because they were made to look just as thick as the day you purchase the item. Vacuuming makes them look good as new. It takes a while but the shedding stops and your still left with an amazing item, patience is worth the end result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NicoleB Beautiful Rug...Hard to Remove Stains
I bought several of these rugs...in sage AND ivory. They really are very beautiful, and they add elegance to my country house! They have a nice, thick pile making them feel more expensive than they are. I recommend using the Super Movenot rug pads underneath for proper cushioning and to extend the life. When guests walk on these rugs (and the pads underneath) they always comment on how plush they feel. "What's under these?" people always ask! My ONLY complaint is that, despite reading that wool rugs are super easy to get stains out of, I have yet to discover a method or product that does the job. I am attempting to remove from the carpet, pet sickness stains that are barely a shade darker than the ivory rug itself. All the recommended blotting, (and blotting and blotting and blotting) does little to remove the stain and much to mash down the pile that I love so much. Even if the stain becomes more of a shadow (remember, I can't get them OUT), the carpet is packed down in the area which I think draws the eye as much AS a stain. Other than that, gorgeous rugs! Remember to raise your beater bar in the vacuum (or turn it off altogether) when cleaning them or else you end up with wads and wads of wool gumming up the works. I love my rugs and would recommend them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Eileenesllsvr7 Beautiful Fleur De Lis rugs
Fluer rugs are a very good quality and thick and soft under feet
My cat even likes to sit and walk on them in my kitchen too.
Didn'nt want any rug that looked to busy in the kitchen but did have a little bit of a design on them and these work fine.
So far I like them very much. I have the ivory and they still look great after a few weeks of use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Oregonbaby rugs not as pictured - they don't match
A few weeks ago, I realized that the runner is not the same as the rectangular rug! The colors were just off, not quite the same, but we kept them because of the difficulty in finding rugs to fit an area. They have been incredibly messy and a year later are still shedding - daily! Individually, they are nice but now that I see that they aren't an exact match they are really very disappointing. It bugs me everytime I look at them. The runner does not have the reddish line on the inside or outside of the pattern. I can't tell from the online photos if this was a flawed rug. Don't buy them. Penneys - will you take the runner back?
