Can this be trimmed to fit?

My window is 64 inches wide. so the 59 inch shade is too small and 71 inch shade will be too large. I wanted to find out if I can trim the 71 inch shade can be trimmed to fit my window?
Asked by: Sheeba
It will not look right to cut a half inch off the bottom on both sides of the base in order to get the size you need. There is some allowance on the ends that fan out, the part that rests on the ledge, but the fan spray itself will be too large on the sides, I think. Plus it would be very difficult to trim this shade evenly so that it's not noticeable. For the price, though, especially when you get a good deal, maybe it's worth the risk of trying to get this to fit your opening. I recommend going big, not small, though. Small won't block the sunlight, unless you want to apply some opaque adhesive along the edge all the way around to cover the overall one inch discrepancy.

What color are the arch cellular shades to the outside? Are they white or are they the same color as the inside color?

How do you measure fo a Cellular Shade?

How so I measure for and Arch Cellular Shade?
Asked by: Barb
Measure across the bottom of the window, the ledge part. At most, you can trim the base of this fan no more than a quarter inch on both sides, giving you a half inch reduction if your window ledge isn't true to the fan's measurement across the base. But it's tough to trim plastic. I used a hacksaw, and once cut, it fit perfectly.

Does the shade open in anyway to let light in when desired?

I'm interested in finding a arch shade that can be opened in some way to occasionally let light in directly and not be blocked by the whole shade.
Asked by: Karen
NO, they are permanent once you put them up as they are meant to stay in position.
