Before I bought this immersion blender, any time I wanted to puree anything - it had to go into the blender or the food processor. This works ok with some things - but other things - especially hot soup - it does not work well. The soup will leak out of the food processor - and the blender has to be done in small batches. Not so with this immersion blender. And - the best part is - there is MUCH less clean up using a immersion blender than either of the two appliances listed above. I love my immersion blender.

The blender was way beyond my expectations. You can tell by looking at it how durable it is and was such a good buy. I want to order some of the extras that you can use with it.

Used this blender 1 time and unfortunately was disappointed in the performance. Donated it to soup kitchen.

I recently ordered a KitchenAid 2-Speed Blender and I love it. I use it for making soap. In case you are not familiar, immersion blenders are what soap makers use to blend oils with lye.
KitchenAid products do cost a little more, but are well worth it because they are made to last, very durable and I have been happy with their products.

We've had this since Christmas, and used it several times to make soups. it's definitely a step up from tipping the whole contents of the pot, a bit at a time, into the blender. Cleaning is a little complicated if you don't have some sort of brush with long bristles, perhaps in combination with a toothbrush. Of course, in many cases, depending on what you've blended, you can just rinse it off right away afterward and no problem. If there's any grease, however, you need brushes to get in behind the blade. The other slightly annoying thing - but this has nothing to do with the product itself - is that KitchenAid's website allows you to sign up for an online account and register the item right away, but then when you check your account, the registered product does not show up as registered for several days. I didn't find any indication on the website that I should expect a delay, so I ended up mailing in the paper product registration form as well. So kind of a waste of a stamp and some extra effort.

My son has a wand and uses it quite a bit he was always telling me to get one with all the cooking I do. I finally listened to his suggestion. I had planned to get the same brand he has but, it was not available from JCP that turned out to be a plus for me price wise & performance wise. His wand splatters when brought up to the surface but, the design KitchenAid used has no splatter. This is a great addition to your kitchen you will find many uses for it.

When I wanted to buy a new stick blender, there were so many options. I chose Kitchenaid because Kitchenaid is made to last a long time. Two speed, 200 watt and it purrs like a Ferrari. Finish is better than Cuisinart and on low speed it is not noisy like cheap $20.00 specials. Always start off on low speed(dial on top) and switch to high speed after the hard work is done. +This will puree smoother than Cuisinart or other brands and the knife blade is VERY sharp. + One year hassle-free warranty. +Taller than Cuisinart, for tall or big jobs. I puree on a daily basis and the smoothness is wonderful and the time to finish is much lees than other brands I've owned. Word of advice: when using on hard counters(marble, quartz, etc. put a cork round on the counter). Owning multiple Kitchenaid products has been a great investment and time saver. I have used commercial appliances years ago and Kitchenaid is the closest to them and I also own 2 hand mixers and a 12 cup food processor. Unlike other brands, never needed to send them away for service. Also parts are available through my parts wholesaler(just tell them to order through Whirlpool!). Other brands don't have the parts availability of Whirlpool. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
