Rated 5 out of 5 by great product! I LOVE making ice cream instead of buying it, and this product is perfect! I've used similar products in commercial kitchens, so I know how easy it is to use! It attaches effortlessly to KitchenAid mixer. Just keep it stored in the freezer when not in use so that it's always ready! April 9, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Worked Great...While it Lasted I received the ice cream maker attachment with my kitchenmaid mixer a little less than 6 months ago and was super happy with it when I first received it. I was able to make a multitude of yummy ice creams from it, and it was super easy! A few days ago I noticed some blue fluid leaking ever so slowly from a seam where the back peg/protruding piece is on the appliance. (I see no cracks or any trauma :'( ) I loved this attachment, and am super disappointed about the flaw revealing itself just before the summer heat and only after having it for such a short time. I'd recommend this attachment any day, had it not started leaking, but it seems to be a common theme among others as well. I want to replace mine, but am afraid the same may happen again. Kitchenaid, pleaseeee fix this flaw in future models! :( April 19, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Soupy Milkshake I received the ice cream bowl as a gift and was super excited. I love everything about my Kitchenaid and thought this would be a fun toy to have in my cupboard. I just attempted to make the strawberry ice cream per the recipe in the provided manual. The bowl sat in the freezer on the coldest setting for 2 days, I measured everything very precisely and added the strawberries at the recommended "5 minutes to go" point in time. However, adding the strawberries seemed to make it worse. They displaced the milky liquid so much that was almost to the top rim of the bowl. The ice cream also seemed to be coming together a little bit, but after the berries were added, the freeze process stopped. I let the bowl go an additional 10 minutes, and when I returned, it was less textured and more like a soupy melting milkshake than anything. Frustrated, I went ahead and transferred my ice cream mixture to an airtight container. It's currently sitting in the refrigerator. I washed the bowl and put that back in the freezer as well. I'm going to try again 15 hours from now but in 2 batches instead of 1 batch and see if that helps. :( April 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it I got the ice cream maker about 4 months ago and love it. It works perfectly. The only problem is that me and my wife are going to end up 400 lbs. from all the ice cream we are now eating. April 28, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Ice Cream Heaven I received my ice cream maker 1 year ago and have been very pleased with the outcome of many different flavors & varieties I've made. Not had any blue leakage as others report, but will be aware. Biggest problem is messy when trying to empty into containers. April 24, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Wish This Worked I thought this would be a great attachment to my mixer but boy was I wrong. The attachment does not fit correctly. When you get it all set up and turn it on it does not attach properly and turn. It just clicks and never catches. After multiple batches of wasted ice cream mix and hours trying to do this I have had it. Very disappointing. April 15, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great until it started leaking blue fluid I got my ice cream maker bowl two Christmases ago. I loved it but I only used it about 6 times. I took it out of my cupboard to make a new batch for a party and saw it had leaked the blue liquid from inside. I still tried freezing it (I put it upside down in the freezer hoping that would freeze the liquid without anymore leaking) but this batch of ice cream wasn't meant to be. It's been over 30 minutes and it's just not freezing like it should. It's just stirring the milk and cream. I wish I could just replace it but it looks like others are having this problem so I don't want to buy a new one only for it to break in a year. April 5, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Blue liquid leaking after 1 use Got this ice cream attachment for our wedding and we were so excited to use it. Got one good batch of ice cream made, but then on the second try after we took it off we notice the blue liquid leaking out. Did a quick search and noticed this is an obvious issue. Hopefully Kitchen Aid is doing something to remedy! April 13, 2016
