Rated 2 out of 5 by coco77 I would love to get the plastic part that keeps breaking for the steam wand! this is the second unit that I buy, and the wand has once again fallen off... Its only a matter of time until the warranty runs out and then I will be stuck with a useless machine. I wish they could make the plastic part metal so that it would stop breaking...

I bought this machine and returned it for a new one two times because water was leaking from the side of the coffee filter. I would absolutely not recommend.

This is a good espresso machine, makes coffee perfectly. i dont use the steam wand though so i will not comment on it , i just use it to get a rich coffee, finer the coffee grind more enjoyable it is.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Debaroo Bad wand design
I guess I didn't learn the first time when the steam wand broke off as I was cleaning it. I thought after seeing that it was "plastic" maybe the design would have changed. So I bought another one. Same model. Well just two years in - the steam wand broke off in my hand as I was cleaning it. Yes... still plastic - not metal. Very weak design.

Rated 3 out of 5 by jackmccann2 Great machine but...
This machine makes very good coffee (provided you supply it with good quality coffee to begin with). The basket holder-in thingy in the handle broke the first day. The on-off switch got cranky after about three months (tries to switch on but fails for several minutes). The built-in screen/gasket clogs easily if the grind is too fine (tricky to clean). There is a lot of mysterious dripping and leaking going on. The steam wand is too long to fit any normal container under it. BUT...this machine has another unexpected good use: it works perfectly as a warmer for overnight yogurt making. Now, if only I could get it to settle down, stop leaking and switch on properly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by emisan Excellent Value, Quality Results, Sturdy Construction
After researching multiple espresso makers, I decided to purchase the Cuisinart EM-100. My budget was $200, as this would be my first espresso machine. The fact that I got it on sale, was an added bonus (Thank you JC Penney). In terms of the product, it is very sturdily constructed. In particular, the steam wand mechanism is quite substantial compared to other espresso machines that I looked at in other department stores. I have been using the espresso maker for over a month, and have experienced no issues. The machine warms-up quickly, and the steam pump works flawlessly. As far as the quality of coffee that it produces, I have been very satisfied with the results. I have been able to reproduce a Café Mocha that is actually better than Starbucks. In fact, for the most part I only go to the coffee shop now to purchase whole beans and syrups. As far as negatives, the steam wand could be placed a bit higher on the espresso maker. I found that placing a wooden cutting board under the machine makes it easier to remove the frothing cup, after the steaming process has been completed. Additionally, I would highly recommend that you purchase a set of large low-profile coffee mugs that will fit under the filter holder mechanism. Overall, I have been extremely satisfied with this purchase. I would definitely recommend this product.

BEST ESPRESSO MAKER AROUND THE PRODUCT IS ABOVE THE REST, AND GIVES YOU A THREE YEAR S OF PEACE OF MIND KNOWING IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG THEY WILL REPLACE IT. IN THIS TIME AND AGE YOU DON'T OFTEN GET SUCH A GET BACK UP PLAN ON A PRODUCT. USING WHOLE BEANS AND GRINDING THEM FRESH FEELS LIKE YOU ARE IN A COFFEE SHOP USING A MUCH HIGHER PRICE MACHINE . PERFECT ESPRESSO EVERY TIME .ALSO THE WARMING TRAY ON TOP OF THE MACHINE HOLDS 4 CUPS TO WARM THEM JUST THE RIGHT EXTRA FEATURE .

Rated 3 out of 5 by Coffee King Great coffee with one flaw
In the right hands, this machine can make coffee second to none. The single drawback it has is a bad steamer design. Steam wand fails inside the unit only months after average use and there is no fix for this.
