Rated 5 out of 5 by Well worth the money I have been holding out on buying a KitchenAid mixer because of the hefty price tag; however, I recently decided to gift one to myself since I very rarely buy myself anything. I have to say that I wish I would have purchased the mixer sooner. It is an awesome addition to my kitchen. I used it the first day it came in the mail because I was so excited to get it. I was extremely impressed. I can see this appliance getting a ton of use in my kitchen. KitchenAid mixers have a great reputation and after reading many reviews I know that I won't ever have to replace my mixer! Great purchase. Highly recommend. August 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A gift to myself After reading the other reviews, I decided to purchase the Kitchenaid Artisan Stand Mixer. I had already heard about how heavy it was, (about 25 pounds) making it difficult to move around. I had a solution for that. I leave mine in a permanent spot on my counter top. So far I have used it to make a chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies from the recipes included with the mixer. I have also used it to make meatloaf, mix hamburger meat for seasoned hamburgers, tuna salad, egg salad and oatmeal cookies. I have noted only one slight drawback in using this machine. It is awkward to add additional ingredients, but there's an easy workaround. I lift the head of the mixer just a bit and spin off any excess mixture, like any other mixer. Then I lift the mixer head the rest of the way and easily disconnect the whisk, dough hook or paddle. After adding my ingredients, I reattach the mixing tool. It could not be more simple. The weight of the machine makes it possible to walk away from even the stiffest dough with no concern of tipping. I wanted a color that was not available online so I called customer service. They did have access to it so now my "yellow pepper" colored mixer sits beautifully on my kitchen counter. This is a wonderful product at a fair price for the value. May 18, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best mixer ever. I bought a KitchenAid Artisan model mixer 7 years ago for myself and it works as good today as it did when it was new. I love to bake and I use it all the. I just recently bought another one to give as a gift to a good friend of mine. She absolutely loved it. January 8, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by I especially like the dough hook as it kneads the dough for my home made yeast bread recipes. I enjoy making home made yeast bread and had made it often. I have rheumatoid arthritis and it was becoming increasingly difficult to knead the dough so I was making it less often. My sister had recently purchased an Artisan KitchenAid stand mixer and shared that one of it's functions was kneading dough. I knew I had to have one so I purchased one. This wonderful machine enables me to once again enjoy making my home made bread and much more. That which was a challenge is now easy. Yes, really easy. I can hardly wait to acquire it's many attachments,( especially the pasta cutter and roller), to provide my family with even more great home made culinary decadents. It is truly a must have for any kitchen and I sincerely thank KitchenAid for this fantastic machine that I know will give me many more years of doing something I so enjoy, providing tasty dishes for the family I love. Rated 3 out of 5 by Good but not as great as Grandma's Kitchenaid mixer was I like my kitchenaid mixer - don't get me wrong, but there are some quality issues that concern me. For one, the pin that holds the mixer head to the base constantly works its way out of the machine. I know to watch for it and push it back into place, but if I didnt, I fear it would come right off - taking the mixer head down with it! I have tried to tighten the screw that holds the pin in place but it hasnt helped. Addtionally, the lock feature has never locked completely. It holds it in place, but doesn't lock all the way over. Adjusting the tilt of the head as described by the manual fixes that issue but then this creates a new issue: the beater hits the side of the bowl. All of this, on a relativly new model makes me wish I would have gotten grandma's Kitchenaid from the 70's. It was heavier, quieter and never had these issues with the pin and lock mechanism. Rated 4 out of 5 by Powerful motor This was a gift from my father 'n law to replace another Kitchenaid that had a lower motor power. In 1980 I originally had a Hobart....and then Kitchenaid took over that company. Unfortunately the quality went down. So if I compare this to my original Hobart...there is no comparison, thus the 4 actually should be much lower. The Hobart never shook when mixing. It was steady. Those were the good old days and my niece is the lucky recipient of it. Since then I've had 3 Kitchenaids. So my comparison will now be with those 3. The first was the very low watts and it was OK. Then back in the early 2000's my aunt bought me a larger one where the bowl is lifted. That stunk and broke in less than a year. My father 'n law just bought me this new one which is by far the best of the 3 Kitchenaids. It still shakes/wobbles but as mentioned it has to do with the lower quality of Kitchenaid vs the former Hobart. Nothing can be done about that now. However it is much better than the other 2 Kitchenaids I had. I'm sorry I gave the other one to my niece. If I knew the quality had gone down, I would still have it. November 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Top Quality I received KitchenAid's Artisan Stand Mixer from my husband for Christmas. It is wonderful! It is very sturdy and came with three attachments so that I can whip, mix, or knead all from the same machine. There is also included a "splash guard" that rests on the top of the mixing bowl to keep spattering from getting all over the counter. Then, my daughter and son-in-law bought me the slicer/grater attachment, so my one machine does even more! Next I'd like to add the pasta maker attachment or maybe the ice cream making attachment!
