My wife needed a wedge and the short ones are very uncomfortable. This full size wedge works, since the whole bed is slanted. I placed it between the mattress and box spring and we have a temperpedic.

I dislike sleeping directly on memory foam -- it's too warm.. I tried using this under my new luxury-model queen size mattress. You'll note the photo here shows it used precisely this way.. My mattress is so heavy I can barely lift it (and I'm no 98-pound weakling), so it was quite difficult getting the pad under the mattress in the first place. NOT worth the effort! The weight of the mattress alone squashed the pad flat, and there was NO incline whatsoever.
HAHAHA.... just TRY to return this item! It's shipped to you rolled tightly with all the air squashed out, and you will never in a million years get it back in the box. I couldn't even get it small enough to get it into my car to drive it 40 miles to the nearest Penneys store. I ended up cutting one side and a little of the end off to change it from queen size to full size, and put it under the mattress in my guest room. That's a a much lighter mattress, and the pad retains its incline there.
I'm sure some people will do just fine with this pad, but it failed me. Your mileage may vary.

I wanted to try elevating the head of the bed for fending off any reflux issues. We've got a Tempurpedic mattress on a platform, and the big trick was wrestling the mattress back onto this foam wedge. The fact that the two surfaces cling to each other so tightly is a minus for getting the mattress adjusted, but a definite plus for keeping it in place once it's there. Looks a bit goofy, as the pic shows, but feels perfectly comfortable, and even makes reading in bed a bit nicer. As we've only had it for a couple of weeks, I can't comment on durability. The sale price made it a decent value compared to similar products. It arrived rolled up and held in place with plastic wrap-- and as one other reviewer noted, getting it rolled up again would be just about impossible for a home consumer trying to return it! We won't, though-- it seems perfect for what we wanted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by lovesgems2011 At last, some designer knew what the answer was...!
My wonderful mattress was developing a slight dip near the top where I had to build up about 4+ pillows to help me with my acid reflux problem as well as help me sleep due to a flip flopped body clock! I saw several foam wedge products that only addressed one side of the bed as for sitting, etc. When I found this incline foam pad, I jumped for joy! When it came in, I took it out of the tightly bound package and took off my mattress and put the wedge into position. Well, let me tell you my bed looked strange as if it was on a magic carpet ride. I don't care, as now I'm sleeping so much better, no acid reflux and my sleep is almost returning to normal with the help of hormone supplements! Thank you JCP for finding this marvelous product. Highly recommended, if the slight slope doesn't bother you! I say who cares? My health is ALL that matters!

Due to acid reflux, my doctor told me I need to raise the head of my bed 4-6" so that I sleep on a slight incline. Because I have a platform bed, I am not able to do this like one could with a conventional bed by placing blocks under the legs. So I needed to find an alternative for our King Size bed. The doctor said pillow wedges do not work and can make the reflux worse. She said the incline has to be gradual. I went online, and found this incline mattress pad on the JC Penny website and ordered one. We placed it on top of the mattress, instead of under it (as the picture illustrates), as it might get too compressed by the weight of the mattress. It works like a charm for my acid reflux problem. The pad is also very comfortable. Both my wife and I sleep better. It also eased my wife's neck and shoulder pain.

This is horrible. I've used other foam mattress pads without problems over the years. I have GERD, so I thought this would be a good idea. Wrong. It constantly slipped off the bed. To the point where I nearly ended on the floor a few nights. It didn't just fall off the sides, it would scoot down from the top to the bottom. I'm small and I have arthritis. I'd pull and pull mightily on this thing every day, trying to tug it back into position. And every morning it had slid down and over the side of the bed. I'm 5'0", so it's not like I'm a huge person. I finally threw it away. Trust me, you don't want this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by artsygirl Exactly what I needed.
I bought this foam wedge to help with reflux. My doc has been telling me to do this for years. Instead I was using an array of pillows that worked but left me with back and neck pain. I am using this wedge under my mattress as in the photo. My mattress is a 12" memory foam mattress on a platform frame. So it is fairly light and does not squash the wedge at all. I have to admit it looks a little funny with the head higher than the foot of the bed but I can live with that since it really helps my reflux issue without hurting my back and neck. It came folded in a medium sized box and unfolded without any odor, or flat areas. I slept on it the first night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sunshine Great Idea! One of best investments I've made in a long time.
Never did I think that raising the head of my bed a few inches could make a difference in my sleep patterns. Having this slight upward adjustment is a better way to sleep because it naturally elevates the head and shoulders without the need for extra pillows or supports. This is a wonderful product.
