Goes from tile to carpet, picks up everything, use it on the stairs, in the car. It is easy to move with you and is really powerful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Turbo Easy to put together.
Just by the pictures in the manual, the parts snapped together in a couple of minutes.
The suction power is great and is small enough to get under furniture!

Rated 5 out of 5 by redsawdust My lil sugar
I named my little dyson Sugar, since suga means suck in Swedish and I thought the name appropriate since these smaller canister vacuums are so cute! But don't let the looks fool you, this lil thing is a beast.
I bought my DC47 recently but haven't used it at home yet since I just moved, however I did take it to work and cleaned my office which I don't think has been vacuumed for years. I think I could taxidermy a small animal out of the amount of hair it pulled and we're talking about only a cubicle sized office. I'm so impressed with the weight, how easy I can get to every little nook and cranny by the way the nozzle rotates. There were some long hairs that did get tangled up in the nozzle but since I'm easily able to remove it, it took but a minute to get it clean again. It's really quiet too and just overall makes me want to use it more often. I don't see vacuuming so much a burden anymore! Highly recommend this model if you hate upright vacuums like me, got a small place, and have tight spots you need to get to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by NCBree LOVE this vacuum...BUT
I really love this vacuum and it did an amazing job getting up the dog hair that had taken up seemingly permanent residence in my old carpet. It is super lightweight and has amazing suction. I thought I would be disappointed that the head was smaller and would take what seemed twice as many strokes to vacuum but instead it was way better than my old one. Because it was smaller I could get into more cracks and crevices. plus it was so light it did not matter that I had to go over more times.
Two small things though - I am a little taller (5ft 8in) and I have to stoop a little because the handle on the brush head is just a little too short. Not a big deal because my house is not too big but if I had a lot of space to do I would get tired. Second for all you pay, they couldn't put a light on the brush head? Now I can get into all of these places that I couldn't before because of the awesome design, but I can't see if I am about to suck up something really bad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Halps This is the worst vacuum we have ever had
We got the Dyson because we needed a sturdy, durable vacuum and one that was lightweight. Since we have had it, we've had it in for repairs at least three times. It requires an incredible level of maintenance. After vacuuming even small areas, we have to go through the cumbersome process of emptying it out. We thought it would be convenient not to have bags, but we much prefer that to the hassle of emptying it. Even the smallest tuft of cat hair stops up the vacuum and we need to take it nearly all apart to get the obstacle out so it can work properly. The attachment for cat hair works okay, but the spool attracts other kinds of hairs, so we have to take a tool to untangle it from the roller regularly. If the canister isn't often emptied, the obstacles pulled from the machine and the spool unfurled, it won't work. And even if all those things are taken care of, there is very little suction on the vacuum cleaner. It doesn't pick up smaller pieces of dirt or other items. This has been an incredible disappointment, considering how much we paid for the vacuum. The only advantage is that it's lightweight, but I would trade it for a heavier vacuum that actually performs the function of vacuuming. We are very disappointed with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BellaB The Perfect Fit
It is with great pleasure I write this review. I have tried both the standing canisters and cordless vacuum. Both probably a good choice but not if you have furniture and if you have a 3 bedroom house to clean, that is actually occupied :)
In other words, the cordless vacuum would only clean for about 8-10 minutes at the time and then needed to be re-charged for about a day.... Not a good fit for a busy mom on the go that has no time to clean in sequences ... :) The "upright standing canister" is a powerful machine, but if you have furniture, which most of the inhabited homes do - you are up to no good. The ball is so high you can go under almost anything in the house. It is probably the ideal fit if you are cleaning big open office spaces. It is a bit heavy as well.
After much going back and forth between few stores we have found the canister option and even though by that time I was all very sceptical about Dyson we have purchased it and .... WOW.
Lightweight, comfortable, extremely mobile. The low ball allows you to clean under anything and around everything. The canister is easy to clean and the machine is self is so light you can lift it and carry it around if you need to reach places. I vacuum and dust with it. I clean upholstery with it and the BEST - I can clean all the legos in the house without sucking any of them in with the flat service accessory ....
Dyson has proven to me - it's worth spending the money!
P.S. Side effects of using this machine - My husband has never been so interested in cleaning ANYTHING! :) I don't know is it the gadget appeal or the versatile use of this Dyson - but he loves to use it .... Yeyyy me !
