by PrimroseGal This rug meets my needs.
I have an old house with a coal stove in the kitchen that I am furnishing as a rental. A previous owner covered the floor under and around the stove with metal. This rug covers some of the metal and looks at home in front of the old stove. I think that it is a bit pricey for synthetic materials but if it holds up and looks the part, I am happy.

I bought two of these. The 3'2 small oval for in front of the stove and the runner for in front of the sink area. Both were navy. The small one looks great the runner--not so much. I don't like it at all. The way it is woven, it has about 5-6 rows, right next to each other, on one side (let's say near the cabinet) in beige. Meanwhile, while still looking at the same side of the rug, there is a ton of blue braids right next to each other on the other side (let's say furthest away from the cabinet). It looks ridiculous. I stuck it in the laundry room because I don't want to bother taking it back. My mother-in-law noticed this flaw immediately when she walked into the house. They need to solve this issue, because the other, smaller rug is very nice. I don't know if the other colors would have this effect, but mine does. I'll order another small one for right in front of the sink and leave it at that.

I bought these rugs 10+ years ago for under our dining room table, a runner and smaller rug for our family room. Fast forward to 2015 and I didn't think J C PENNEY carried this rug anymore. Well, to my surprise they still did. I purchased three more rugs in taupe and was beyond happy! I love they are reversible, good quality material and the taupe rugs include burgundy, green and blue colors to match the decor in our home. Our open concept kitchen, dining room and family room all match now and it brings all three rooms together. Top that with a % off discount which helps as we are retired senior citizens. Delivery to our home was quick and timely. I LOVE these braided rugs and have always received compliments from family and friends. Thank you JC PENNEY for continuing to offer this great product for many years.

Well made rug with an overall good value. The colors are nice, but the red is more burgundy than red which I was going for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Fredsmama Although beautiful, this rug is not durable and cannot hold up with foot traffic
I ordered this rug online after reading the reviews. It came in a reasonable length of time and I was thrilled with it. I love braided rugs and this one looks so nice on my wood floor in the front room. Within two weeks it was fraying badly and I contacted JCP who advised me to return it. I thought maybe this rug was just defective, so I did return it and ordered another one, exact same rug. I love the colors and the way it looks and I really want it to work out. Well, this one is doing the same thing and I am SO disappointed. If you want a rug to just look at, this is perfect. But I have to have one that can be walked on.
I did use a JCP rug liner, and that is definitely needed or the rug will slide The rug liner was easy to trim and put down so that was no problem at all.
I did not vacuum the second rug with my Oreck vacuum cleaner as I had the first rug. Although the Oreck does not have a beater bar and I thought that would be okay, I felt maybe that's what made the rug fray. So the second rug I only used a flat attachment on my Shop Vac.
As much as I love this rug and want to keep it, I can tell after less than a month it is not going to hold up. I'm going to check into one made with 100% polypropylene fibers and hope that works. If not, I'm out of the braided rug business as much as I want one.
