Rated 5 out of 5 by BargainHunter Heavy Large Pot
This is a very heavy, flat bottomed pot. Calphalon is a known and popular pot. It cooks well. The size of this pot is very large and will fit soup, sauce and anything large. I love it. It has two handles to lift.

Love this pan . The stainless steel look is attractive and because of the tri-ply it cooks even.

This 4.5 qt saucepan is the perfect size to make pasta, rice or steam vegetables for my family of 3. The tri-ply stainless bottom keeps things from sticking and burning.
There is some discoloration when I boil pasta. It doesn't come off with soap and water, however, when I cooked some spaghetti sauce in the pan the color reverted back to pristine stainless. Must be some sort of reaction between the metal.

I have had this pan for about two years or so and I would estimate it is used five out of seven days a week. It is the perfect size for so many uses, and it has the "helper" handle which is great for somebody with weak wrists. I don't know how I ever cooked meals without it. There is also a steamer basket that fits perfectly into it and/or the next smaller pan, and the steamer comes with a glass lid that fits it and the 4.5 qt. pan. You have to purchase the steamer separately, but it is wonderful for steaming fresh vegetables and corn on the cob.

I have had this pot now for several weeks. I have made soups stews and chili. I do not use high heat so the clean up is easy no sticking. The duel handles are great. It allows smooth movement from the stove to table. Time will tell how pot will last. My last set of pots lasted over 40 years and they are still being used.
