Rated 5 out of 5 by The bacon maker pan The handle on the 45-year-old Farberware classic 10" frying pan my wife and I owned broke off at four spot welds and was not cost effective to repair. When trying to replace it with the current exact piece, I found that Farberware no longer makes any pots and pans that are aluminum clad stainless steel. The new 10" frying pan now has an aluminum slug on the bottom and only steel sides. Bacon slices larger than the bottom won't cook properly because the sides don't heat up. I solved this problem with the Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 10" Omelette Pan. It is made like the old Farberware frying pan and it works great. I contacted the company that now owns Farberware and was sent for review a non-stick Analon 10" frying pan and a KitchenAid 10" frying pan. I don't use non-stick cookware. The KitchenAid 10" frying pan has the aluminum slug on the bottom and won't work with the bacon strips. The Calphalon pan is a quality product at a reasonable price. September 15, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tri ply Stainless - amazing! but not for beginners I researched Calphalon tri-ply stainless on many websites for months before buying and also asked friends who owned them. The consensus is, they are the best for people who know how to use them. If you are used to cooking on mostly non-stick cookware over an electric coil burner, don't buy these. They are an amazing tool over a medium gas flame and they heat up very quickly, so take that into account. Sauteing, sauces, steaming etc. is so easy on tri-ply. This 10 inch omelette pan can be used for many things, and I find I use it now more than the 12 inch since our kids are out of the house and I'm mainly cooking for two. People who say it's impossible to clean are likely not adhering to the advice that you really never need to take this pan up past medium heat. It conducts so well and quickly! A good cleaning tip is to deglaze with hot water while the pan is still warm. Use a wooden utensil and you'll be amazed at how easily everything releases. Barkeepers Friend is really the only cleaning product I would recommend, and only when needed. I always wash by hand. July 4, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Replaced a relic I bought this pan to replace my ancient 10 inch Club pan whose original non-stick surface was long gone , leaving just raw aluminum. Since I've purchased it, I've used the pan repeatedly for a wide range of recipies and applications (i.e. not just Omelettes). In a nutshell.. I'm very pleased with the pan's performance. Between its heft and the aluminum core, it heats quickly and extreemly evenly. Deglazing is also not a problem. The sloped sides make flipping a breeze, although I had to get used to the longer handle. When I purchase a piece of cookware, I look for performance, not particularly aesthetics. In summary, I have found this pan to be a great performer. March 2, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good, solid pan I have been using my 10" omelette pan several times a week for 8 years now, and I have no complaints. Heats evenly, doesn't scorch my food, cleans very well with Bon Ami. It is easy to prevent food from sticking on this pan, unlike thinner pans I have, by getting it hot and adding a cold fat. This is a substantial line of cookware and definitely my favorite. November 15, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Scrambled eggs stuck I've used this pan once and was somewhat disappointed. After following the heating instructions, and waiting for the butter to melt, I added scrambled eggs and cooked them over medium heat on a gas stove. The eggs stuck to the bottom of the pan, but cleaned up fairly easily after soaking for five minutes. Not non-stick with proper preheating as advertised. I've been cooking for 30+ years and know how to use stainless steel pans so this was a disappointment. I was going to buy several sets for my children, but not now. February 29, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love the Pan! I have had this pan for a few months now and love it. While this SS pan is not nonstick, the satin finish requires very little fat. It heats up quickly and evenly. I can only think the person who complained about the horrible clean-up cooked food at too high of a temperature. Like another reviewer, I deglaze the pan with a little hot water while still warm. Even when it needs a little scrubbing, I use Barkeeper's Friend, and it cleans up beautifully. September 15, 2011

I have cooked omelets and pancakes and the heat distribution and interior finish produces phenomenal results. As always with stainless pans, folks should remember to pre-season the pan *(I use light grape-seed oil). The exterior finish is highly polished and is very easy to clean. Please don't ruin your pan by placing it in the dishwasher (hand wash only). April 30, 2012

A little picky about warming things up before using it and melting a little butter in it to check the temperature, but it cooks beautifully and nothing sticks without the plastic coating. I have a lot of teflon coated frypans, and some old stainless ones that definitely are not non-stick, but this pan fits into a niche and, although I haven't done so, can be put into the dishwasher.
