Rated 5 out of 5 by from cuisinart versus kitchenaid 9 speed hand mixers I have owned the KA 9 speed hand mixer for over a year now and recently purchased the Cuisinart 9 speed. I have discovered a lot of pro’s and con’s and thought it might be helpful if people were trying to figure out which one they wanted to buy. Both are really good hand mixers, I think the best out there for longevity. Of course I can’t prove that part yet, just purchasing the Cuisinart. The Ka is quieter, and the first speed is slower then on the Cuisinart. You have to remember with the Cuisinart it starts off faster when you just turn it on, and the slows, so hold it out of the bowl before you use it in the batter. Unknown to me as well is that the KA dough hooks tend to make a better bread or pizza dough then the cuisinart, don’t ask me why, maybe its me? Or the shape of the dough hooks, the dough hooks on the Ka seem to be heavier duty and the ones on the cuisinart are thinner but again, I don’t know if this matters. Likewise the cuisinart tends to work better for me in heavier dough then the KA. I have yet to use the full speeds on either Mixer. I did try to make whip cream with the balloon whisks and to me anyway, they both seem worthless. I feel that the regular beaters on both actually work better. I think the cuisinart is a bit louder, but I think it surely works a lot better with a heavier dough. So there seems to be advantages to both of these as hand mixers, I love the look of the KA as well as the Cuisinart.. The KA being more expensive, though I like it being quieter, I tend to go to the cuisnart for less hassle, should my batter be heavier. They say the Ka has a powerful dc motor, again I don’t know about lonegevity if this means it would last longer but those who know motors can tell more than I can. I hope this review might help someone that’s trying to decide

Rated 3 out of 5 by from All but the cord This mixer is a fine product, no doubt about that . . . but after two uses I returned it. Here's why: The product illustration shows mixer snapped neatly onto the case with accessories inside -- a very attractive arrangement, except that it does not show the mixer with the cord! In real life, the cord is neither detachable nor retractable, and because it is a heavy duty cord (unlike the thinner, more flexible cord on my less powerful mixer) trying to get it into the storage case, on top of the accessories, and then trying to snap the mixer onto the case is a bit like fighting with a strong stubborn snake, trying to force it into somewhere it doesn't want to go. Life's too short for such things on a regular basis! The problem is made worse by the kinks that result from packaging, which resist being straightened. I'm surprised that no-one else has mentioned this disadvantage in an otherwise good mixer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best product on the Market This product is one of the best products I have every used.. I love the multiple features. The instruction manual assisted with the level of speed needed for baking or mixing.. The manual was extremely helpful, for example, with determining the level of speed needed for combing dry ingredients to folding delicate creams and eggs into batters, creating perfect frosting texture to whip potatoes . The unique beaters and chef whisk made the difference with providing the correct texture. All off my cakes and pies turned out perfect. I was very pleased with this product. It was worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product I replaced my 20+ year old hand mixer with this Cuisinart hand mixer, and it's a vast improvement. I researched all of the hand mixers, and this is by far the best. This mixer does not struggle and is easy to clean up and store. I like that it can do everything that a stand mixer can do and not take up any space. The power for this mixer is perfect. It didn't struggle to mix or throw food all over the kitchen! Definitely worth the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cuisinart3cookies The wait was worth it! They had to back order this for me. I received it a couple weeks ago and just love it. It does everything it says in the add. It is a little loud, but I love the way it works through the tough dough that you have in some cookies recipes, (ex: peanut butter cookies and choc. chip cookies) . I mixed a cake mix also. Great ;-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this product has great storage feature The power of the hand mixture is adaptable to all recipes. The attachments are always nearby due to the great storage bin under the mixer. There was prompt delivery and mixer was packed securely so there was no damage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from compact storage like that it is all together in one spot, not having to have the beaters in one spot and mixer in another. I can grab the mixer and beaters all at one time. I replaced a kitchen aid with this one and like it much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is awesome. The case to store everything is wonderful because you don't have a cord hanging out. I would recommend this product to anyone. I had another well known brand and this out performs that one. Very smooth and more than enough speeds.

What is the weight of the mixer?

Asked by: dixx
Don't know the exact weight, but it's a little heavy. Not so much as to tire your arm--you can tell this is a quality mixer.
