Rated 1 out of 5 by from New Version - NOT the same as before BUYER BEWARE They are called by the same name - but NOT the same rugs that were sold under this title name/description in years before. Review readers should definitely sort by date - as I do not understand how these CURRENT rugs are showing such a good rating. They are substandard in quality. I have ordered these rugs from JCP about 4 years ago and they were wonderful heavy rugs that really held up after each washing, but these newer ones are not the same... the pile is not the same thickness, and they have what I could only describe as a pathetic rubber backing that is so ridiculously thin, they could never hold up to doorway traffic and routine washings for very long, if at all. This current version is a sad downgrade - and not the same quality of what was previously sold under this same description. This is either a different manufacturer or somebody's cutting corners in their production costs - either way - don't waste your money. Pretty to look at - but too thin and too cheaply made to last.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quality has changed-Not for the better Was disappointed to see the new quality standard for this rug. Just purchased a replacement for the kitchen, and the quality is not the same. We have other rugs for this style in the bathrooms and they have held up very well, with excellent quality. The new difference when comparing the older model to the new. The yarn or thread count per inch is much LOWER today than in the past. The rug is not as thick or firm. If you rub your hand over the top of the yarn, you can see the backing foam very clearly. The older rugs did not do this. The edge border is also much thinner today. I understand manufacturing costs go up every year, but, I would prefer they add cost to the rug and keep the prior quality standard. I am sure many people would agree, especially if you have an older model in your home. The difference in quality is very apparent. Been shopping at JCP for 25+ years, but, hope they are not going down that path with cheap prices and cheap quality. Their reputation is better than that. There are big box stores that specialize in offering cheap goods for folks that want them. I prefer to pay more as fair price but get the quality we have normally seen over the years with JCP. The new rug is serviceable, but, do not expect it to hold up as durable over time due to the thinness of the yarn as currently used. Tried to take pictures of the old vs new style, but, hard to show the difference with a photo.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible quality! Backing crumbles on first & every wash! JCP should go back to the company that supplied their throw rugs 5+ years ago - those lasted for several years with no problems! Current supplier makes UNACCEPTABLE QUALITY throw rugs. After one washing (cold water, gentle cycle, fluff/dry low heat, then air dry), the white rubber/paper[?] backing crumbled leaving white crumbs all over inside my clothes dryer AND all over the front of the rug AND my clothes when handling the rugs! What a mess! This happened to 20"x34" rugs and 2'x5' runners. Washed again 3 weeks later, same process ... same mess! See attached photo for sample of crumbs [on tape on black paper for easier viewing] that have to be removed with sticky tape. I have been buying throw rugs at JCP for 15+ years; not anymore as they no longer sell quality throw rugs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DANDRUFF!! I bought two of these rugs in New Orleans Red in March of 2015, and they have turned out to be the poorest of quality. Right from the first DELICATE washing, the backing was shedding into the yarn of the face, leaving what appears to be extremely heavy dandruff throughout the rug, which is impossible to shake, brush, or vacuum out, ruining the appearance. Additionally, the fibers in the yarn work loose and twist through every bit of lint so that only kneeling down and pulling it out bit by bit is the solution. Unless you plan to buy this rug in the Cream color, I would urge you NOT to buy this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible I've purchased Penney's washable rugs and runners for 30 years, including the Double Border version a few times. They used to be very durable and could be reliably washed several times. It's just my hub and I with no pets. I laid these on my floors in mid-November. In just 2 months, the edges have come apart! I cannot imagine how these could be washable as they most certainly will fall apart in the laundry and probably clog both washer and plumbing system! Suffice to say, the word "quality" should not be used to describe these rugs! Terrible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from versatile I ordered 4 of the small size of this rug in the antique linen shade for my kitchen. They have held up fairly well over the past 3 years. They have been machine washed about 20 times and are now starting to unravel on the binding. The color and the fibers continue to look nearly new! Overall, pleased with the quality and the assault they have taken from my very busy family! We're ordering a couple of replacements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great buy I just ordered another 3x5 rug in New Orleans Red. What I really like about the rug is, it is not only washable but in between washing I vacuum it, I have also used my floor steamer & swiffer on it. Comes up great. I have 4 small dogs & a cat & it does attract some pet hair. But it's very easy to clean.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fell apart Received 2 (black) circa 07/29/16. Within 2 weeks, the serged edges began separting from the body of the rug, in multiple locations; including to the point that one entire edge was no longer attached. Returned to the store yesterday.
